BX2360
i guess, i''ll have to go the tube route for one or both of my fronts on my bx2360.
since i admit to being an idiot, can anyone advise me on a tube size or are the tire dimensions enough, for the boys at the local sears tire or walmart center?

Tire size is all you should need. Not sure on this size of tire but they may have tubes with different valve stem styles and locations. Make sure you get ones that will work with your rims.

not sure of your tire size but my BX24 has a 18x8.50-10 size tire which is just about impossible to find a tube for, tire shop sold me tubes that are sized 18x8.50-9.50 as a alternate size which did fit ok

Forget the tubes, been there before and done that, get slime and call it a day...

oh man ! yesterday when I needed the bota to move 89 bundles of shingles from trailer to garage, the front right tire was flat. I put air in it and dunked it in my pool. I found the bead on the back side is leaking a tiny bit. Not sure if I am gonna get tubes or try bead sealant. any ideas anyone ?:(

I had a can of bead sealant from several years ago. It was still good . For some reason, that company doesn't make it anymore. I broke the bead on both sides, tried to smooth the rim surfaces with medium emery paper, brushed the sealant into the rim and the tire bead. It's been holding air for a month now without any loss. Hope this helps.

Quit telling about bead sealant....unless your going to share with us.:D:D
Thought you were going to find us a place to get it. Take your can to a Lab or something and have them make us some.:)

[Assuming no rim damage] Bead leaks are sometimes due to the tire bead moving very slightly from its longtime position on the rim during hard use. This is usually because the inflation was not adequate for that use. These can sometimes be made to reseal. Deflate your tire and wash [or pressure wash lightly] the seated bead area. Then reinflate to max pressure and immediately use the tire for a high load chore for a while. Often the bead will reseat air tite. Stay at max pressure for a few days before lowering the pressure to your preferred inflation.

:ashamed: In keeping with the spirit of TBN, I promise to get on it. But without a digital camera, you'll have to imagine what a can of it looks like.:D

Yup, get some green slime and install it..Then get working...I have no idea why you people are messing with tubes, bead sealer etc...i have tried all that and all let me down..The Slim is cheap, workes heads and shoulders over the other and it seals and will keep sealing...

I'd have to say the same as you except it would apply to tubes instead of Slime and I've never done Slime. Now I am again considering Slime in my F2680 that went flat on me yesterday if I can just bring myself to pay $8 for something that the company says is only for 2 years. If it were one of my tractors with FEL to lift it up while I took the tire in I'd probably do that but the F don't so I'd have to jack it up, take it off, take it in and then bring it back to reinstall. So, you Slimers that testify to it working are about to win me over vs us tube guys and the Slimers that say Slime didn't work for them.:) I may become a pro or anti Slimer in a couple of days. Course the plug it repair has been a proven repair for 40 to 50 years on high speed auto tires. Wal Mart here I come, plug repair kit ??? dollars, Slime $8-$9
.
Edit: Not on Wal Mart web site but Advance shows the 2 tools, air guage and 5 plugs for $9.99. Guess I need to see where my hole is before deciding on which one to use. Sidewall- Slime in tread-Plug

guys,

i just returned from my kubota dealer. he agreed with me about my front bx tire. inside rim side bead leak . . . which he said he had repaired.
with my track record of non luck, i may be revisiting the slime or tube issue shortly.
i must put my bro-tek skid plates on and head into a large brush area that i need to clear out with a ratchet rake . . . yike it's a big project!
any advice on back dragging with the rr?
thanks in advance. D902 BX PILOT

Yep, I've used what you call "slime". The brand that i use is green and is called "Linseal" which is $16.55 for 32oz. It has worked okay for me. After a year or two more is needed, which is okay with me. We are dealing with small punctures ( like thorns) in the tread. And I have repaired bigger holes with plugs and slime. But for a bead leak, I can't see where slime would do any good, unless you filled the tire with it. Let's see, that would take about four bottles or more.

I originally just used my RR by back draging work area of dirt. Lately I've tackled some major growed up areas of small trees, brush and briars. I've been going straight into brush with big teeth forward and small teeth just skimming the ground then tilting bucket till lower small teeth bite into ground and back draging it all out. Then back and forth with lower teeth into ground with final back drag to level it all out. Working great. Pictures of first and second RR.

Now to tire issue. Flat on my F2680 yesterday, aired up but it's leaking. Didn't do a good check to find leak, in a hurry to get home. Went to Advance Auto today to get the $9.99 5 plugs to fix 5 flats included the 2 tools with big handles and an air guage. Slime was $10 for 8 ozs. Instead bought one for $12.99 with 47 pieces 25 plugs, tire guage, 2 T handle tools, 6 tube patches, rubber cement, metal buffer, 4 way valve tool, 4 cores and 4 caps all in a case with instructions. Will see if plugs is my answer, if not then will try Slime. Have tubed all leaking tires before on BX's with FEL to lift them off the ground to remove tire. F does not have FEL so will have to jack it up.
