Certainly makes sense to me.

And here is a list of things that Lee Brown has told us over the years on this board:

1. Mobile homes are better constructed and stronger than stick built houses. He knows so because he used to sell them, but he never responds when asked to back it up with engineering specs.

2. He has built decks using 2 x 4s as joists that are stronger than typical decks with 2 x 10 or 2 x 12 joists. He also never responds when asked for plans or engineering.

3. He bought his BX23 for thousands less than anyone has ever heard of. When asked to show a receipt, he doesn't respond.

4. He paid $5 for his Ohio auto plates. When asked to show a receipt, he never responds.

5. He believes mobile home frames make good superstructure frames for automobile bridges. When asked for engineering, he never responds.

6. Though Ohio has not been considered the Northwest Territory since the end of the Revolution, he wants us all to know that he lives in the first organized settlement in what he still calls the Northwest Territory.

7. He says the high range on a BX was designed by Kubota specifically and only for traveling from point A to point B, that the tractor can only perform work in low range. When asked to point out where that is stated in Kubota literature, he simply does not respond.

8. LBrown59 believes that having one BX tractor each for every possible use is preferable to changing implements.

When it comes to the advice of Lee Brown, caveat emptor.

Well, I see you have issues. But not having to remove and re-install attachments is a good thing for me.

Oh, tut-tut, Tom. We all have our little quirks. None of us is right all the time. I find LBrown and his ideas to be stimulating. From the kinds of responses he gets, I think others do too.

And just look at the detailed record-keeping you've engaged in, in response to his responses. Such diligence does not come about without cause.

Even if those thoughts you cite are all examples of error, he's still OUR LBrown and something of a tradition here. Let us not be uncharitable.

Just stating the facts. You are free to call that "issues" if you choose, but all those things are in the archives if you want to go through his posts. I did not include the fact that he tells owners of Woods BH6000 backhoes that their tractors have the wrong ROPS, even though he has never sat on one and we who own them find no problem. Brown's thoughts are cited so that people who read his advice in this thread can see what is typical of the things he tells people. There is nothing inappropriate about that.

Bob, this is a tractor forum. Church is a more appropriate place for piety and bible verses. As far as charity and Mr. Brown, the point is that his way of thinking and advice are way outside the norm. A person needs to take into account Mr. Brown's overall way of thinking if his advice is going to be considered. I am saying that based on this record, it is well to take it with a grain of salt.

Congrats on the New BX1850 and you got a really good deal on it.
I got a good sale price of $8595 on a BX1850 with a 54" mower.
Adding the front Hydraulics would have brought it to $8995.
=You done great beating this price.

The BX1850 arrived just at about 8:45. It was dark but I could see they mounted the 54 inch mower, as promised! Drove it into the barn in front of the BX 24. I have about 3 feet to spare with the B/H bucket of the BX24 sitting between the 3 point hitch, whew. Only downer, no manual. They said they would mail one to me. Oh well. So, the final deal was pretty good I think, $8,250 with the FEL hydraulics installed and the 54 inch mower. With the hydraulics I can consider a front blade (if it fits within the 3 feet!).

The other dealer offered his best price of $8,400 without the front hydraulics. I think it is a $600 option retail.

BTW, the dealer had dropped the GR2110 to $6,900 (which is the lowest price I was quoted when my target was a diesel garden tractor) before I signed for the BX, so I paid a $1,500 premium for the BX. About $35 a month with the 42 month no interest financing. No big deal money-wise.

Hope this real time pricing info helps. After a while I tend to forget.

About half of my posts are related to requests for photos from Lbrown59. I guess I'm trying to catch up to his thread count. It's easy, just make a separate post for every thought or sentence.
He does stir controversy. Just look around the web. He made plenty of friends on ************ countrybynet
Just don't ask him questions about credit counseling. It'll never end.

Yeah, Renob, I'm in. We can form a Fingerlakes chapter, at least.

Now you need a dump trailer so the 1850 can cart away the stuff the BX24 digs up.
Bob

My Dodge D 50 truck with a load handler in the bed worked well for this.
I hauld 35 loads of dirt i loaded on it with the BX23 a couple of summers ago.
