BX24 & 25 part's question.....

Does anyone know if the BX24 & 25 'skin' parts are interchangeable?
Like the hood, rear fender, deck, etc.

I was going to contact Kubota direct but did not want to call China.

I have the BX24 and was looking to possibly replace the hood and deck from a BX25 since they are steel and the BX24 is plastic.

I don't know the answer to that. I would be surprised if they are. You could try and call, its not China. The number in the back of your owners manual is the regional office where you can get the same service people we do.

Just request a BX24 parts manual, then maybe a day or two later request the BX25, then compare the parts numbers. Let us know.

Thanks messicks for chiming in here . Actually, I was hoping that you would actually do a test fit. Got a BX24 and 25 around ? Swap the hoods and see if 25 fit on the 24 ? If it does, I'll bet that you will be getting calls for the BX25 hood replacements for the BX24 owners .

CHDinCT - nice theory,I doubt it gonna be the same part numbers. They need to be different part numbers due to metal and plastic material.

I'd guess you'd spend less trading your BX24 up to a BX25 rather than buying all that sheet metal.

I assume your talking about the engine cover tab.

I found one of my 'tabs' broken off so I used a fender washer which has a large diameter (to grab a large surface area of the plastic fender tab) underneath the plastic knob screw.

I would use a compressionable style washer not a spring lock or any type that would put too much pressure on the plastic but something that would 'bite slightly'.
If the washer is flat, then possibly use anti-skid tape on the washer.

I can't imagine that the fender would move at all with either set up. Plus, the large fender washer distributes the compression of the screw across the plastic instead of localized right under the screw head.

It's a shame being plastic because once it's broken there is really no way to bet it back to original. At least with steel there is something to work with (welding, riveting, etc)

I have used large washers on mine too. The metal tab that holds the engine shroud was bent up and someone at the dealer tightened the thumbscrew down too tight and broke one of the tabs off when new. If the metal tab is bent, use a crescent wrench to bend it so it is parallel with the tab on the engine shroud or the thumbscrew will put it in a bind and break the plastic tab off when tightened firmly. I never got it replaced because it was 150 mi one way to the dealer and the larger washers seem to hold it fine.
