Hardly half, but I'm no engineer.

You are correct on the BX24. The BX23 loader capacity (LA212) was closer to half as I recall.

The main point though is that the CK20 and BX24 comparison is just not apples to apples. One is light, smaller and is developed from a mowing tractor. The other is much heavier and a CUT not a SCUT. It is difficult to do a valid comparison between the two as far as I'm concerned. Better to acknowledge that they are both fine machines and that they serve overlapping but different purposes.

I was using the 518lbs listed on the Kubota site. Looking at it again, that is the load capacity 19" ahead of the pins. I stand corrected...

I might put a tape measure across your rear tires before heading through that 48" gate too :D :D :D You might leave some serious rubber marks. Kidding aside, those CK20's are workhorses for sure!

I have had my tractor for 2-1/2 years now and it has been so great that I like to defend it and tell others how great it is.
And knock Kubota's to justify it, it seems......

If small is your flavor I would look at the Mahindra's 1815
And before somone says it is only 18 hp. I would tell you to look at the specs..
Kubota bx24 is making 23hp @3,200 rpms
Mahindra 1815 is making 18hp @2,600 rpm
Hey if we spin the mahindra at 3,200 I wonder how much hp we could make?

I will say one thing Kubota does have the market with this little guy....
Untill now...only thing I can say is I have had both of them and the Mahindra will out perform the BX any day of the week.
Oh-Ya we did the chain test to.. The mahindra will drag the bx backwards.

That 1815 is a tough looking tractor, tougher underneath too, and I like the slightly larger tires. With matched implements ( the BX strong point) and good marketing it could be a BX killer.

I'd be curious to see a drag test. Based on a quick scan of tractordata.com he tractors look pretty evenly matched. The BX24 is a bit heavier and has more HP at a higher rpm and the Mahindra has a slightly bigger, lower reving engine (perhaps with more torque?) For the test, what sort of ground and was that with like-sized/type tires on both? Seems like traction would be a big part of it.

The BX certainly doesn't have the most power for the dollar in the market but seems only fair to question a Kioti - Mahindra dealer's test.

I've owned my bx24 for less than 2 years, and honestly can say I have little experience w/anything larger than a riding mower. I tried out the massey and liked it more but had a less than pleasing experience with the dealer so I bought the kubota. However I can say that eventhough it might not have the weight limits in lifting or digging as the kioti it has done everything I wanted it to do. The fel will pick up as much gravel, dirt, rock, concrete, or snow you can fit in it. I know from experience. Ever since I got it I jump at every chance I get to make an excuse to use it. The backhoe has dug up many rocks, roots, and dirt with ease. Saved my back on many occasions. Neighbors are apreciative too. The 60" mower deck will cut grass near 4 feet tall with out a grunt and still ask for more. I like the fact that to go from forward to reverse all I have to do is move my foot- makes loader work very quick and easy. I even lifted my 30 year old jd210 garden tractor with the fel after welding hooks on the fel and set it in a trailer to haul it away. I stand at 6' tall weighing in at 232lb and not once hit my knees on the dash. They fit perfectly around the steering wheel which makes putting my feet on the pedals much easier. Putting them under the steering wheel just causes me to sqeeze my balls and becomes quite uncomfortable. I have nothing against any other tractor brand or color. I really like them all. Ever since I bought mine I have looked at others even closer. I'm a master automotive technician and just find all these machines awesome. If you like a tractor then buy it. If others bash your tractor suck it up or go tell your mom. Find the machine you think that best suites your needs by researching what they are all capable of and making an EDUCATED decision. sorry for the rant.

I second what Matt Jr says...Just insert GC2310 instead of BX24 for me.

Great, if I ever have the need to pull another tractor backwards while it's trying to drive in the other direction I'm sure I'll find this a useful feature......
Hey if we spin the mahindra at 3,200 I wonder how much hp we could make?
If it's not designed to run at that rpm under constant load (like the Kubota) it'll probably self destruct......
