2007 BX24
There have been several questions asked about where the BX series are manufactured.
I understand the tractor is assembled in Gainesville, Georgia with the engine coming from Kubota in Japan.
Does anyone have a photo of the tractor nameplate (w/o the serial number). I believe that would provide valuable information.

Is the Kubota BX series considered as manufactured in the United States.
Thanks
TN

The tractor is manufactured in Gainesville Ga with the engine and HST manufactured in Japan, shipped to GA and installed in the tractor. Most of the implements for American marketed Kubota tractors are manufactured in GA also.
My name plate states:
Kubota Tractor
Type: BX23MLB
Serial: XXXXX
Kubota Manufacturing of America Corp.
2715 Ramsey Rd.
Gainesville, GA. 30501

The BX's may be NEARLY all American in construction, but the're a TOTAL American success story. In some parts of North America, the US designed BX's outsell all other Kubota models.

Volfandt is correct in his description of the nameplate. Further, the nameplate on the BX23 is the same as the one found on the BX22. However, there is a very slight difference with the nameplate found on the BX24, where Kubota finally elected to drop the zip code and street address - perhaps to avoid too many visits to the factory???

Thanks for the information. I am looking at bringing a BX into Canada and needed that information for customs.

TractorNut, the warranty on a BX that you buy in the USA will become invalid when the tractor gets exported to another country.

You are correct, but the difference in price ($3,000 or more) and the reputation of Kubota makes importing an attractive option.

Perhaps...

If you do go ahead, here is a list of potential fixes under warranty that may be reqired on that imported BX (BX24, BX1850 and BX2350).

1-Replacement battery cover frame (original doesn't fit properly).

2-Grip Kit (Kubota part number:K2581-9557-0) Contains all the plastic handles and lever sleeves for the levers and knobs. Seems that they go on much tighter than the old ones.

3-Cluster kit: This is the dash cluster for all the gauges. The first design could accumulate moisture inside, or the hour meter may not work properly
BX1850 Part number K2501-6250-2
BX2350/24 Part number K2581-6250-2

4- Fender Kit: For the original fenders that had a tendency to break... Part number K2581-95522

5-Step stay kit: These are the new brackets that support the floorboard. This is extremely heavy-duty. This has to eliminate any floorboard flex at all.
BX2350/1850 part number K2581-9554-0
BX24 Part number K2592-9554-0

6- Seat modification to correct ealier problem

7-HST adjustments for the abrupt reverse stop problem

In other words, you may wish to raise and resolve the above issues before leaving the dealership with your purchase.

Thanks for the pointers. I have been watching this site for awhile and have asked about some of the points you raised, particularly the seat and the fenders.
I am told the tractor is an 07 model, when did the other problems get corrected?

How has your BX24 been?

I have spoken to quite a few dealers about the above BX problems; many of them are not knowledgeable, and a few of them don't seem care. One thing is certain, some dealers will stretch the truth as far as they can to make a sale. For that reason, I am not sure if there are any new BX models that are completely exempt from all of the above problems yet.

Remember that you have the POWER to get real answers to hard questions as long as you are still holding the cash in your hand. Before you hand over your money, ask the dealer to show you, point by point, how each of the above problems was resolved on the particular BX that you plan to bring home.

RE: Issues raised by lp333 were addressed at factory after these serial numbers.

Items 1 - 4 are covered under warranty if and only if the issue actually occurs. So far less than 50% of the BX tractors we have sold have actually exhibited any symptoms and only about 10% on any one single issue. but most tractors shipped after December 2006 have been addressed.

Items 5 & 6 are campaign items are factory addressed if the serial number is above these.
BX1850 -step stay >54851 Seat Stopper >53774
BX2350 -step stay >62168 Seat stopper >57985
BX24 -step stay >55996 Seat stopper >56846

Item 7 only applied to the BX22, BX1500, BX1800, and BX2200 tractors with the "tredle pedal".

And as far as my dealership; I'd better not catch any employees "stretching the truth" to make a sale, "Full Disclosure" is our policy.

Thank you 66gladiator for your valuable post. It would be great if more Kubota dealers were as informed and as helpful as you are.

If I understand you correctly:

1) All BX24 tractors after serial # 55996 have the step stay kit installed, and

2) All BX24 tractors after serial # 56846 have both the step stay kit and the seat stopper installed.

Is it correct to assume that there is a serial number after which all BX24 tractors would have the new improved plastic fenders installed please? If that happens to be the case, would it be possible for you to provide that serial number please?

Todd,
As mentioned your post is extremely helpful and much appreciated.
What is the serial number cut off that would define a 2006 BX24 from a 2007 model?
Thanks,
TN

If ordering a new BX24 today (on the lot from messicks who has good turnover) which items may have not been applied yet to a new machine that I might want to watch for?

Pending further clarification from 66gladiator, may I suggest that you print the above list and bring it with you the next time you visit the dealer. Ask him to show you exactly how each point in that list was addressed on the specific tractor that you intend to buy; in the process, how about asking him for the serial numbers relating to each fix? Then kindly post the replies here for the benefit of your fellow kubotans?

No year info from serial numbers, year model determined by when the tractor is sold, or when a new series/sub-series is introduced.

I have had the deck on my BX 24 replaced twice in a year...under warranty, the step broke on both sides... I now wonder if the dealer installed the new brackets or just the new deck., is their a part number on the bracket I can check? old vs new?

Guess it is time to buy a parts and service manual...have had the BX 24 for almost a full year now.

Check your invoice to see if it mentions part # K2592-9554-0. Believe it or not, some dealers will only install one bracket (on the left underside of the deck) rather than two, because they don't see many breaks on the right side.

You can see the step kit in the following picture. One side has a large plate and the other side has a smaller bracket.

Single, this is just about as clear as it gets. I would like to extend a challenge to all other Kubota owners here at TBN to come up with an even more ingenious or creative way to illstrate a warranty repair on their BX.
