As someone affiliated with the company that has had a relationship with ChuckE, I too am baffled and disappointed. His post was more of a rage than a reason. He quoted distorted or out of context "facts" and made off the wall assumptions and conclusions imho. We are still evaluating our official response. But with the founder of our company being an immigrant forced to flee persecution, it would be ludicrous to believe that Everlast supports this kind of statement. He has obviously had others in on his show too, including HTP, Miller, Hypertherm, et al. Seems like he has burned some bridges. Though there is no excuse for it, I truly hope what was said was a product of youthful ignorance and brashness. Though not in this stream of thought, I can say my thoughts have changed over the year on various subjects as age has set in. Something I hope he learns to regret. Yes, freedom of speech is important, but so is freedom of association, and people can choose to listen and respond as they deem appropriate. My view and thoughts are much different than his I can assure you. My views of the world greatly changed the summer of my 21st birhday when I spent a month solo in the African bush on an Agricultural mission project.

Reminds of when I was in college and worked for Lowe's part time. The local grand dragon of the KKK was a roofer. He'd come in occasionally. Paradoxically His reputation was of being a good roofer, going so far as to go around on his hands and knees picking up loose nails and screws, and protecting shrubbery from damage etc. But we had to wait on him as any other customer. He made some racist comment toward a fellow worker that was waiting on him and I told him he (the employee) was the hardest worker we had...which was the truth. The fellow employee did a stand up thing though. He told me that he'd wait on him just like any other customer and was in the middle of pulling down sheathing for him with the fork lift from the top bunk. The guy (employee) was a fire fighter part time and he really made an impression on me as being a model of what is RIGHT in America. The customer was a prime example of what is wrong...but is tolerated because of our beliefs and ideals.

Mark and everybnody else who wants to string Lance up,

It is okay to have diversity of thought--after all that is the risk of free speech that we'll hear something we don't agree with. Automatically turning your back on somebody because of a lack of shared opinion shuts down discussion and increasingly leads to intolerant totalitarian group think where outliers and nonconformists are persecuted in various ways beginning with shunning. Your company sponsored Lance to drive sales, and Lance as a person is entitled to an opinion. If everybody bails because we cannot agree on everything or cannot abide hearing something disagreeable, then none of us would have any customers, friends, or relatives. Bailing is not the path going forward for those in support of freedom of speech.

I watched Chuck’s videos pretty much from the start. Once he started acting like a white supremist, I unsubscribed. I hope YouTube cancels his channel.

Seems you may get your wish.

CHUCKE2009 THEYRE DELETING MY CHANNEL - YouTube

I went through a phase last year where I spent hours watching him in the evenings. I probably saw most of his videos back to the beginning. I found him fascinating, but eventually moved on to some other fixation. I have not tuned in to his channel in months so This is the first I'm hearing of his decline into political ruin. Very disappointing.

I don't understand why any company or public figure (other than politicians) would ever take a public political stance. All you can do is drive away business. There is never a winning side. As soon as you take a side, you alienate half your viewers/customers. Why would a company as big as Target support a left wing cause? Why would a company as big as chick-fil-a be so publicly right wing? I go to target for groceries, not lectures on women's rights. I go to chick-fil-a for chicken sandwiches, not a daily dose of Jesus. The chick-fil-a case is a bit of an enigma though; every time they do something in front of a camera in the name of the almighty, they get as much public support as they do condemnation. People line up around the block for Jesus' sammiches for a day or two. But it's temporary. The hatred they generate on the other side of the aisle is permanent.

As a small business owner I'm very careful to be publicly politically neutral. I have political discussions with my friends, in private, where political discussions should be held. I will always act on my beliefs; I will not compromise, but I also won't wave my beliefs in anyone's face. And I think that's the way all businesses should conduct themselves. Especially the ones that have shareholders. At least, if the goal is to make money.

I certainly agree with what you are saying.
Sadly, as an educator who is politically conservative, I'm almost never afforded that kind of freedom.
The intolerance is pervasive and bleeds into all parts of the education system.
It's clear that it often affects how students behave towards differing opinions.
I'm constantly shocked when social studies teachers refuse free speech arguments outright.

Having said that, I've found Lanse to be highly intolerant of other people's differing views for many years - even when being shared to help him with something.

So as I stated, I find him to be an idiot.

I don't think anyone is looking to string him up. Life is about choices that we make regarding the things we do, say and choose to feel about a topic. This topic, his channel - everything is fluid. I wouldn't fault a sponsor for making a statement in this case or breaking ties if they felt they should. I think we've seen cases where an actor or politician, maybe someone in a profession held to a higher standard get the big boot because on an unfounded accusation and we wish they had better ground to stand on.
Chucky is young, had the opportunity to build his own brand and f'd it up from where most would take it. He can choose to focus and represent what he wants. The almighty dollar has been known to follow just about anything though. I was an early subscriber and his videos gave me good ways to go for which I am thankful. I haven't been in while and he's not for me. I don't desire have anymore deviousness in this world added to what gets shoved down our throat now.

I watched the link. I still disagree with him about a lot of what he said.
Agree with calling out the sexual crap being pushed on little kids - that stuff is wrong in my view.

I 100% support his right to say the things I disagree with.

I 100% support YouTube's right to determine content on stuff they own.

I sure miss the days when Lance was back in Ohio making some of the best basic welding videos around.

Wow... just watched Chucke's, 'They're deleting my channel' video. Don't know quite what to think as a long time viewer also since the Ohio days. A few months ago I slacked off his videos finding other interesting folks to follow. I will plug Jimmy Diresta... jimmydiresta
- YouTube
here as a long time favorite that I continue to follow closely. Pretty much zero talk during his projects and sped up action to save you a lot of viewing time! Very cool projects I might add as well.

I hope Stretch knows what he is doing for his sake... I won't criticize him for his personal pursuits, but I do think he is destroying his brand and hope he 'keeps it together'.

The video I posted on the first page features Jonathan Haidt speaking among other things, a reaction against safe spaces and groupthink to the rise of "dangerous" schools where students will be exposed to diversity of thought. One of my friends is a superintendent of schools here in MN and normally when we talk shop, I hear about management issues, but I think I'll ask her about freedom of speech and sharing unpopular opinions.

That said, I don't rely on Lance to do my thinking either.
