Correct Position For BX24 FEL Bucket When Using Hoe

Keith,
Don't be so hard on yourself. You are right.....having the loader in the dump position does put more strain on the loader but it is designed to take it so don't be afraid to do it. You should only do it when the entire edge can contact the ground. If the ground is too unlevel than you should set the bucket level. You are also right about not lifting the tires off of the ground. The tires should just contact the ground....front and rear.

I posed this same question a few years ago when I first got my BX23. The manual says to use the dump position and point the FEL vertically. I do this most of the time, except when the FEL is on a finished surface, like a paved driveway or lawn. In those cases keeping the FEL flat works fine and doesn't damage the ground.

running backhoes for over 15 years now curl the bucket down in the dirt (dump) raise the tires up off the ground a little bit then swirl your seat and use the stabilizers to pick the rear of the tractor up off the ground and start digging(all 4 tires off the ground) If its a paved surface or where you want to tread lightly put the FEL flat on the ground and try to put as much pressure on the bucket as you can then use a sheet of ply wood or something of that nature under the pads and go easy when your digging or you'll slide around

Kubotas are built for abuse so dont be afraid to use its to its capabilities! but do it in a smart fashion as well!!
