A good morning of progress.
Both sides of carport base anchored in.
The additional 5/8 anchors are set in epoxy and will tighten down later. Must remember to tighten the two independent legs as well. Didn’t take up right size socket.

Lookin good! Cannot wait to watch the rest go up.

Are you going to dig out the dirt next to it and slope it down some? The way you have it sitting there looks like it's going to get back filled which will likely lead to a metal rusting through and water running into the carport.

At this point something of a toss up. Either 1/2 sheet of corrugated metal against the bank or 2-3 courses of block. Yup, the metal will rust, likely get water either way. Water less a concern as it would be coming down the drive anyway. Not making any attempt to keep it dry. Main concern is a stable bank for mowing.

Now is the time to dig a trench, install a drain tile and backfill with gravel. You will be glad you did. Even if you don't care about it rusting out, in short order water will start seeping in and you will have mud inside you building all the time.

I might put a piece of corrugated pipe at the bottom and then fill the space between the dirt and the metal with washed crushed rock. That way water can go in and flow out without staying next to the metal and rusting it out as quickly.
or if you have much of a slope uphill from that, you might want to dig a second trench out 2-3 feet and do the same thing out there so that any water gets caught out there.
If you do that, you could also put the dirt that gets dug out between the building and second trench so that there is a slope away from the building and towards the second trench.

30 nuts and bolts, 816 self drilling screws later - 6 31ft trusses

All in all, a pretty good day. Impressed with how well it went together. Basically check a couple of measurements, find center, make sure collar tie is straight and it went together easily.

Rain coming in, but managed to get corner brackets installed. Actually been sprinkling on and off most of the morning.

Next step is to mark locations for the purlins. Easier on the ground and will aid getting trusses in proper alignment. Challenge is my marker doesn’t work well on wet metal.

Will transport trusses individually via tractor. Don’t have flat area of sufficient length for leg installation at the cottage. Current thinking is to install legs temporarily here at tractorshed, uninstall for transport, reinstall at cottage. More work, but I think actually easier.

Rain held off long enough.
A few paper towels later and I was able to get trusses marked for purlins. Also played with positioning leg support brackets. All in all, a good day.

There is a lot more to those kits then I realized
