Derek,
Good eye. The boat has been in the family for about a decade. My dad saw it at a garage sale while driving by. He stoped and asked what they wanted for it. When they told him $100 and it included the motor, fuel tank, some seats, an anchor and ores, he couldnt' get the cash out fast enough!!!
He's never had a use for it, but thought it would be nice on his tow car whilr RVing. That never happened and for years, it just sat in his garage. Then my brother started to use it to fish some lakes in Fremont California, near where he used to live.
He hurt his back at work, had surgery on it a few times and isn't able to lift anything very heavy anymore. Early last year, it became my boat.
Bird,
Congrats on the boat!!! From what I've been told, the fishing has been exceptional at Lake Fork and Lake Palestine with the water down so low. What I don't understand, is drownings are WAY up! Not sure why, but maybe more people are out fishing and the percentages go up with more people on the water. We just had another fatality at Lake Palestine last week. Most years there's none or just one. This year we've had over a dozen.
Be safe,
Eddie
