Are you talking in the bedroom or cutting grass? I have gone away from Flail. Still have a 917 fine cut that is never used and a ditch flail with ten pound hammer/knives that may or not see the light of day this year.

Once you go flail you never go back.

If Mr. Mott had not been killed in that experimental airplane crash on his property there would not be a belly or rear mounted rotary mower in this country.

How many acres per year do you cut with your Flail. What brand/model is it?

I don't think I ever heard tell of one on here. Many municipalities are using them instead of the flails.

Growing up, the town I lived in used a mix of disc mowers and sickle bar mowers to cut the roadsides and ditches.

I have only had Guinness(insert the word blasphemy here) in the tall can with the chilling charge-unsure if they still do that though. I plan on trying the Guinness blond one of these days.

If the mule in the picture is the one you wish to use for both ditch mowing and brush mowing we need a bit more information to help you along with your decision simply because the mules true center line geometry and rear wheel spacing is going to control the decision you make if you intend on buying a boom mounted ditch mower with swing type side shifting that can also mow vertically.

I started looking at a Titan 48" ditch mower but was steered toward a BCRM 155 (Nova Tractor BCRM middle duty ditch ) in another thread about Ditch Mowers. I like the specs listed and with my 4025 weighing in at close to 5K lbs I think it should handle running it without a problem.

Thoughts / opinions ????

I have never heard of a BCRM flail mower.

I guess since its still early you should shop some more.

Vrisimo is selling their 48 inch rear mount flail mowers factory direct for a bit under $3,800.00 plus $400 shipping from California.

The 48" unit is set up to run as or a rear mount and can be used as a front mount by rotating the three point hitch mount 180 degrees for a front mounting set up.

If you have a mid point PTO or can have one installed it may be worth your while to investigate doing this and buying a front implement lift kit from the Mahindra dealer.

When pop had the big house we mowed the 12 acre pasture with the JD 25A and the Ford Jubilee. We used the towed motorized 48 inch lawn genie on the acres of good grass sod.
I have maintained the Mathews lawn genie and the B&S engine to brand new condition, new bearings, wheels and engine parts and it will last another 30 years. I was able to save the lawn genie from my brothers desire to sell it for scrap because he did not want it after my father moved. I use it on my one acre for grass and leaf pickup when it gets really tall.

I hade my fathers first 36 inch lawn genie with an 8 horse B&S engine and he maintained a 2+ mile jogging path for my mother in 15 foot tall brush for many years until she became sick from contracting Lupus.

I would check with the folks at Iowa Farm Equipment and talk to one of the folks there about the Peruzzo boom mounted ditch mowers.

Our fellow TBN / "Flail Mower Nation" member Powerscol owns a Peruzzo Giraffa model and this is his second or third season of use with his and he is very happy with it.

Hello. I understand you, my friend. I also have 1 acre with an excellent lawn. I like to spend time in it and mow the lawn with my XT2 QR106. I remember how I spent a long time choosing seeds for sowing. I came across the website of these guys The 5 Best Kentucky Bluegrass Seeds for Your Lawn, on which I did not know which seeds to choose. I asked a friend of a gardener, he advised me Jacklin Seed-Biltmore Blue Blend. I did not regret this choice and I can proudly say that my lawn looks very good. It's a pity that I'm not at home right now and I can't show you all the beauty of my lawn, but I really hope that in a week you will see my work.

Just to close out my search, I went with a "Lane Shark". Impressive so far, only time will tell.
