Cherokee140 - OK fine, you'd be mad, but you should be mad at yourself. If you didn't know what you were buying it's no ones fault but your own. It's not like they told him it had quick detach bucket or the brake was on the wrong side from what it was. If there were something promised and it wasn't there it's one thing, but its a used machine that was looked at prior to purchasing. I know we've all bought something that wasn't what we hoped it would be but were later educated.

It's a John Deere dealer selling a USED Kubota! If that's the kinda of decision making you'd use when you decide to take someones assumptions for gospel you'll probably have a lot more disappointment in you life. It's an honest mistake that doesn't amount to any type of fraud and would not be subject to any thing but a full refund if so desired.

So in your book it is ok to take advantage of an uninformed buyer....courts and jails are full of people that do that to the elderly.

I think that small skid plate we talk so much about is a new to the D feature.

My BX 25 purchased in 2012 and definitely not decaled as a 25D has that plate. I can't say whether all BX 25 tractors have it but mine does. I think it would be very difficult to prove intentional deception on the part of the John Deere dealer for not knowing all the intricacies of a used Kubota tractor which the purchaser saw prior to the purchase and didn't pick upon either. The fact remains that he got a great tractor at a fair price.

I do understand that that's a moronic statement. Of you read though the posts it appears most do not agree with you.

What options did the dealer tell him it had that it didn't? Does anything change what they gave for it in trade? Other than those two things what else should a John Deere dealer really be focused on?

I have zero history with tractors and the BX line was what got me to start looking. One if the first questions I asked was what the difference between the bx25 and bx25d was. I got a lot if the answers here. I also took the time to look for backup or those answers online. (Kubota's website for example) I asked enough questions and did enough research to make an as informed decision as I was comfortable with.

There is zero way to tell if the salesmen was trying to get away with something or not. But we can prove that could have taken more personal responsibility for what they chose to do.

BTW I don't really think that was a smoking deal. I think my price new, with financing was quoted at 18,500. I may have just bought new and gotten the cool sticker.

That is good you have that plate, from the very little that I have read it seems like that is something that was a mid model change or something to that effect. I know that plate has saved my fan...stuff has been stuck in there....I think Kubota saw that as an issue and they put that plate in there.....and I really think that serves more then just a skid plate, that thing is thick enough to be called a brace....in fact that is what my dealer told me it was a brace to make the back end of the BX25D stronger for the backhoe.

Cherokee, that plate as youve been told by several, is not "D" exclusive. Its only a skid AFAIK. And its been there since at least 2012. Likely since mid 2011 or even early 2011.
