Thanks for posting the video! I mentioned this YEARS ago and people said it would not work. They said using a cork was easier....no way!
But, I did say a scantily clad female assistant was needed!!
I KNEW YOU WERE OUT THERE SOME WHERE IF WE COULD SMOKE YOU OUT. I REMEMBERED SOME ONE WAS A VAC USER
This is a great thread! Thanks for all the info - one quick question, any preference to grease? I read that an air gun is superior so I'm going to pick one of those up at sears or hf and I think I read that Ron gets his grease at hf - is that a good place to get it? Any issues switching grease?
I HAVE A SEARS AND A HF AIR POWERED GREASE GUNS AND ENDORSE THEM HEARTILY. HAD A BATTERY ONE SOME WHERE I BOUGHT USED AND I THINK MAYBE BATTERY WAS BAD AND I CAN'T SEEM TO LOCATE IT. I BUY THE LEAST EXPENSIVE GREASE WHEN IT'S ON SALE AT TSC OR FARM WORLD AND FEEL SECURE WITH USING IT.
If you are not using the grease gun on a production level, I think you might be happier with a Lincoln Powerluber. I started with air, and changed to the Lincoln system and for my needs its much more user friendly. I use the 12 volt system and it has been flawless for years.

I AGREE THAT THE BATTERY ONE WOULD/WILL BE MORE CONVENIENT TO USE AND HERE ARE PRICES FROM AMAZON. I WON'T PAY $200 OR MORE FOR ONE MYSELF BUT THERE ARE THOSE THAT WILL. I HAD ONE AT ONE TIME AND SEEM TO HAVE LOST IT.

Still a little bummed about the lack of Deano's video, though. How would a "scantily clad female assistant" not improve this procedure's video?

Grasshopper...it's a known fact that all auto or agricultural repairs are made easier with this type of assistant.

RB, I retract my endorsement on the HF pneumatic grease gun. It has been nothing but problems. The spring keeps overriding the plunger disc and that stops the feed of grease to the pump unit. Threw it away after the last time, and finished that service with a hand pump. I have a new one from NAPA that I haven't used yet, but will soon. So far their molybdenum lube seems to work well. It is black and I have the proverbial problem of getting all over me, but that applies to all liquids I use including diesel. It is slick though. I use it on a lot of moving things even applied by hand.

I've used a Sears/Craftsman air operated gun (I think I bought it on sale for $20 to $25) for several years and it has worked flawlessly. I also have a cheapo HF but haven't ever used it soooo with the above info I'm now hesitant to recommend the HF one. With cheap stuff some work and some don't so come spring or a warmer Ky day I'll start using the HF to see if I have the same results but for me air or if you want to pay the money the battery one but no hand pumps for me, been there and done that, so, like a gear drive tractor (If they are the regular gear drive like on the Kubota B2320) I don't want to ever go that route again. I do have a hand pump grease gun and use it for a whatever needs a little weight to hold it down and for backup if I can't reach what I'm greasing with the air hose.:D

Thanks - I picked up the CRC Moly at HF and I got their 'better' air grease gun - black as opposed to shiny steel - had a coupon and they had their big sale this weekend so I'll give it a shot. If it is ng I'll go Craftsman. Thanks again for the info.

Thanks for this thread...and for the continued "BUMP" to keep it going. I will need this in oh, about 47 hours when I do mine. Just got her today and logged a little over two hours moving brush and mowing the back acre. I was driving and mowing in standing water under the leaves.. and she never slipped once. 4wd is amazing!!

It has helped new and old owners and glad you can see some benefit from it, later.
