What concerns me most in pic #1 is the condition of the water passage because I'm a stickler for clean cooling systems (which reminds me that I just installed a coolant filter on my mini-ex). That divot in the block isn't a sealing surface anyway.
Pic #2 IMHO is too pitted to be reused, same with pic #5 if it's a different cylinder.
Pic #3 I think should be dressed up with some crocus cloth.
If you intend to operate the engine with a 160 - 175 degree F thermostat then the ring end gaps you show should be fine and suitable to a maximum of 185 degrees F. Of course, the hotter the better (within limits). A 195 degree F thermostat would give optimum thermal efficiency, but that's pushing expansion limits on these engines IMHO.

what is crocus cloth, and the ring gap was a little bit larger then the min called for in the book but you think that that is still to little gap? the min in the book called for .2mm to .4mm and i was at .305mm bottom and .254mm top it does seem kinda tight to me too

ok just looked up crocus cloth, would 1200 or 2000 wet sandpaper work or is that too rough, and the water passages will be cleaned,

You can get c-cloth at NAPA but 2k - 3k emery will work, but not as well.

I would add .002" -.003" to those factory numbers.

well i got jurnal no1 sanded down with some 2000 grit wet dry paper, it looked good, and yes bob i got all the passage ways cleaned out hahah, and slathered everything in permatex *** lube, i also noticed a little tab pc of metal on the rod of no2 so i filed it down, also while putting the torque to the wrench it felt kinda weard on cyl2 cly1 went ok to 95ft lbs, but to me cly2 felt like it was going to far i took it to 92 ft lbs and stopped, i dont know if what i was feeling was the bearing seating and crushing into place or what but it just gave me weard feedback so i stopped ran my wrench up and down the scale then went to 80 and it clicked then to 90 and it clicked then to 92 and it moved a little and clicked then put it to 94 and it wanted to turn more then i thought 2lb more should so i stopped, ive never had a prob with this wrench and its not real old but i thought better safe then sorry, the specs call for 90 to 95.5lbs so its in spec or over, im still kinda thinking it was the bearing seating tho but i might be wrong ill add some pics, ive got to wait for a sleeve or it would of been done today

I would plasti-gage those bearings regardless, then you know what you're dealing with.

do you think that slacking kind of feeling i was getting was from the bearings seating or could it of been the bolts streaching, i did get it into the spec of 90 to 95, i really dont think im gonna mess with them but it just kind of buggs me
