I haven't contacted them, but specs call for a deep cycle battery included; my assumption is electric hydraulic pump; no other reason for the battery.

Yes Inspector and Don......it's elect. over hyd. The unit is in a copartment on the tongue. The battery, motor, pump, and hyd. tank. It has a push button on a 10 ft cord so you are away from the trailer when it dumps. I added a flow control valve in line to slow the dump down speed. My is gravity down and was too fast for me.

The battery is also for the electric brakes in the event of a break away condition.....

I just bought the dump trailer pictured in the atttachment on EBay for $1,800. Better yet, it's located about 60 miles from my property, so I can easily pick it up.

It's 6' x 12', rated at 12,000# GVW, has self contained electro-hydraulic dump, brakes work, tires are OK. The floor of the bed is rusted at one end but I can weld in a patch.

I can pull it with my tractor on site, and I can pull it with my Dakota when loaded up to about 2,500# (5,000# total), which means I can use it to haul stuff to the landfill or transport my tractor, but I won't be able to use it to haul full loads of shell rock or fill until I get a bigger truck. Off to look at trucks.

I don't know Don......

You think that nice BLUE tractor is going to like being in that big GREEN trailer?? /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

You might want to paint that trailer to keep peace in the family! /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Don,

Good deal. A new one, is at least 4-5K.
I have used a similar U-Dump and liked it, except the bifold rear gate.
Be careful with that trailer when its full and that TC18. My TN70 slows down a bit going up a steep hill with a full dump trailer in tow and its alot heavier.

Another good inexpensive dump trailer is the one you can get at Northern Tool for $995 plus about $170 for the hydraulic cylinder you choose. It's only a two-ton dump, and only rated for slow speed, but around the property they are great. They hook into the tractor's aux hydraulics so you don't pay for the onboard electric pump. Here's a link in case you haven't seen them yet:

I don't work for them, I just like their stuff...

Hey thats pretty good 6 payments of $160, and zero interest.

This looks like an interesting alternative but my knowledge of hydraulics is nil. Could you mount a control valve on the trailer as well as the cylynder and use the same hydraulic lines that power the backhoe on my BX22? Will do some research but this looks like it might be a good way to get a dump trailer without breaking the bank.
