Dump trailer #?

How long do you figure your current job list will take you once you get a trailer? How far down the road is the start of the projects? Do you have a tractor that you could use to power the hydraulics, as that would save from having to buy valves, pump, etc.

As I was looking at building one, I constantly have my eye on the scrap dealers.

Sometimes you will be amazed what steel comes through as "scrap" and can be bought for pennies on the dollar (but even at that it is still fairly expensive)

My commercial one is channel, but there are tube trailers out there as well, it is like anything else, there are advantages and disadvantages to both.

Mine would be what I found the best deal on the basic building material (say 8" Channel)

There is somewhere on the web that had some nice plans for trailers that I was looking at as well. I would buy those if I was building. I would not build exactly to the plan, but use it as reference.

One of TBN's supporting vendors has plans for just what your looking for, I have ordered from them with excellent results and I will recommend them very highly. here is link to plans for a 14 foot trailer with a 12,000 pound capacity and they carry all the other odds and ends you will need for your build.

We can save you money on the trailer components, but the hydraulics for the dump bed are expensive anywhere you go. Just let me know if I can help you out. Try looking at our Utility Trailer Axle Kits

I have the 10X5 dump trailer plans that I used for reference for my 4X8 dump trailer since there are no 4X8 dump trailer plans.

Ebay is where I got my actuator 109.00 and pump 248.00, local auto parts for hydraulic hoses, Southwestwheel, coupler and my local metal place for all my necessary steel.

I used a mixture of channel a tubing.
