When are you going to get a couple hundred knocked off a LandPride Tiller with free shipping?

Problem with most attachments is that the manufacturers don't sell direct... we talked to one tiller manufacturer who was willing to sell direct, but weren't able to come to terms.

We have some other nice products on the way... but big things like tillers and mowers are a bit tricky.

I made an attachment that attaches to the 3 point hitch that has a 2-5/16" ball at the right height for my gooseneck trailers and a drawbar for bumper-pull trainers. It was only about $30 of material and an hour with the welder. I added a chain and a ring that hooke to the drawbar to stop unintended raising of the 3-point but I never had it happen before I added it either. The main thing I use this for is moving my horse trailers around. Just back up, raise the 3-point, and go. The tractor turns a lot tighter than my truck so I can maneuver easier. The only thing I can't move it my living quarters trailer which is almost 9000# empty. The 3-point isn't strong enough.

/forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif What's the tongue weight?

 / EZmover® Hitch System ***INTRO SPECIAL*** #25
Our trailer weighs 15-16k loaded with four horses and all our gear. Tongue weight empty is about 2500 lbs. Here's a picture.

Thanks for the great explanation, Bird. I hadn't thought of that, but then I never did credit myself with having common sense. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Seems like a chain attached to the horizontal draw bar and a clevice or something on the tractor's drawbar would fix that from happening. Hopefully that is mentioned in the instructions that come with the receiver holder for people like me that don't follow TBN. )

I have a rather interesting swinging drawbar on a 3pt hitch drawbar - it's an antique that came from a Ford 9N era.

Anyhow, I use it a lot here on a 100 series Ford tractor, & on the farm with some serious wagon weight behind it.

I promise you, the most serious issue is going _down_ a hill. With 18,000 of soybeans behind me, going down a hill & the wagon wants to push the tractor, it will ram the 3pt up that it will break something! Promise you it will!

Seems like a nice design on this, but it really, really should come with a safety chain to keep it down.

I noticed that the web page is updated with a picture showing how a chain like this would be used with this product. It looks to be a nice solution, easy to hook up. Did they add the feature, or was it always there.

Has anyone bought one of these lately who would care to comment on it's quality?

I've got one coming hopefully before the weekend. I let you know how the chain hook-up works out. Couldn't hardly go wrong for the price and very quick with emails.

It came today but I had to leave for work berfore I could play around with it. First I should say that are really fast on their shipping. I ordered it Monday and it got here today (Thursday).

It appears to be well made, good looking welds, nice paint. It even came with the hardware to attach it to the drawbar. There is a hole near the top of the upright to attach a chain, either with a bolt or one of those repelling type rings.

All in all, I'd say it will work fine.

So I went ahead and ordered one of these, but after filling out the form that said $79.99 including free shipping, it came back and said the order had been processed and I would be billed $99.99 (no e-mail address to complain to).

I included in the comment field of the order a note: "Thanks for the TBN special," which now looks a bit ironic. Anyway, we'll see what they actually charge my card. I assume is just a goof and they will make it right.

Will report on the product since I need it to go get a woodchipper and a log splitter from the local rental place and I plan to just drive the tractor there and use this hitch to fetch them.

My order was the same way. You should get a confirmation email. I just replied to it asking about the shipping and it was deducted from the total.

Due to rain/work schedule, I haven't had a chance to use mine yet.

Hey Cliff,

Sorry for the incorrect total---we simply forgot to take the shipping charge off when the special started. As I believe Summit Fabrications has already told you, your total is $79.95, not $99.95.

All orders from now through 9/30 will be $79.95 total, free shipping.

Thanks, Muhammad. I wasn't worried about it. I figured it would all work out.

I ordered mine on Monday and it arrived Thursday. It looks like a well built product. The price, along the free shipping, makes it appear to be one of the better accessories I've purchased for the tractor.

I ordered and received mine. Really like it except for ONE little item. I had to file the hole on the tabs that attach it to the drawbar to get the bolts to fit. The holes in the tab were about an 1/8" of an inch to narrow to get the bolts into. I tried every drawbar at the local supply store and none worked. I think a slotted tab on (one side or the other) the part that attaches to the drawbar would be a good improvement.

That is a good question. I don't see any recommendations or maximum load spec's. Probably due to potential legal liability.

I note they are real careful wording things about the limiter chain. I'm surprised their insurance lets them sell it without that chain; it's a rather unstable item without it, can cause a lot of damage/ injury.

Something like this was on old N Fords many years ago, but needed solid sablizer bars to the upper link to brace it. That keeps it safe. Or a short stablizer chain. Of course, those items make it far less 'handy' to use, as it becomes just another stationary hitch.

Of course, I ordered mine yesterday. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Everyone, be real careful on hills or with trailers that are light in the front end. The hitch can slam upward with a lot of force.

Of course, I'll find lots of uses for mine. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I'm not against the product obviously, just want people to be careful.
