I've never been to Missouri, but I thought it was a lot more hilly then that. I love the sky!!!! Just AMAZING.

Good luck with your hunting season,
Eddie

Hey Eddie,

It depends on what part of Missouri. It's definitely more hilly in south Missouri around the Ozark area than here. I'm located in St. Joseph, MO (Northwest). I'm just a few miles from the Missouri river and the Kansas line.

With that said, most of my property has more hills than flat land. The picture is from the back field of the property which is the highest point and flattest part of the property. The rest of the property is all hills and ravines. There's about a 200 foot elevation change from the point in the pictures to the lowest point of our property.

You should have come up for the World Series. It was lots of fun here.:)

I haven't followed baseball very close for quite some time. I used to be a big Cardinals fan. I tuned into the series this year and was glad I did. This years series was unbelievable. One of the most exciting series I can remember in a long time.

I've been out three times so far during muzzleloader season. The deer movement has been the same as the rest of the year, very slow. Our field was in beans this year and the farmer got them out fairly early. Every time I leave I get to drive past my neighbors field full of deer. His was in corn and seems to be where the deer are hanging out this year. Looks like a food plot may be in the works next year. Either that, or I need to convince our farmer to leave some strips of crops standing. I'm not sure how well he'll like the fact that I want to leave some crops to feed the deer. :D

I did take the time to get the insulation in after one of my trips out. I was able to get the walls insulated, sealed the eaves with some expanding foam, and had enough insulation to do about half of the roof. I was amazed at the difference in heat after adding the insulation. Last time out I only had the heater on low and eventually turned it off completely. It's now very comfortable inside.

On a side note, I've been borrowing a gun from a friend. My uncle called and had a muzzleloader that his brother wanted to sell. He decided he didn't need it. He had a Thompson Center Omega (open sights) for $200. Told him I'd take it and was surprised when I picked it up. It still had the stickers on it and had never been fired. Got the scope and rings ordered for it.

Congrats on a great deal!!!!

Sounds like your blind is going to be something that you will be getting a lot of use out of. I know that mine is a favorite place for me to be, but also a fun thing to show off to friends who come over. I even have a group of Wounded Warriors coming by next month to see it and meet Oscar.

Good luck on your hunt,
Eddie

You need to get a nice office chair out there. You can adjust the height, twist and roll it to get set up for a comfortable shot easily and quietly. Plus, if you buy a nice one your back doesn't get tired and if anything, you feel better after sitting in it for a few hours.

OMG!!! I'm so stupid!!!!!!!!!!! I have an old office chair that I had in my houe for years. It's really comfortable, but the wrong color for what I have now. It's just sitting in my workshop with some boxes on it. I never even thought to put it in my deer blind.:ashamed::confused::(

Your timing is perfect. I'm heading out the to blind in a few minutes and plan on spending the next two days in it. I'm not seeing anything on my game camera, but figure that it's cold, wet and nasty out, so it's a perfect weekend for something to happen. Besides, deer season ends in a week, so it's coming down to the end for this year.

Now I'm going to be a lot more comfy!!!!
