I was buring off some rotten logs last night and had a time using my "shovel" on my boom pole to push logs around in the fire. I don't like to use the minihoe because of the rubber jacketed hoses and it cost too much to expose to much heat. I built what amounts to a small fork lift on a 2 inch receiver tube. I can use the 5 foot boom pole to keep me and the PT away from the fire. I can stick it in the fire and grab a log and reposition it. It also makes a good place to store my thumb while drying and while being painted. See attached pictures.

Buy the Haynes "Welding Manual". That's all I did and started building stuff.
