B2620
Ever since I was a kid plowing the 400' driveway with my dads B7100 hst I wanted one. He's had his for 28 years and since he's not giving it up, I had to buy my own.:D

Yesterday I pulled the trigger on a B2620, FEL, Woods GT52 tiller.
I don't have as much land as my dad (about 1 1/2 acres vs 3). For that reason I was looking at a BX first. After looking them over and trying them out, almost 30 years later, I think the B is still the way to go. About 2k more over a Bx2660 but the difference is well worth it.
More rugged construction
bigger better traction tires.
Much more lift capacity, bucket and 3pt.
Full Category 1 (much more variety for attachments)
50 inch bucket. (fit 4ft items)
Bigger lower rpm engine
3 speed HST
Two speed pto
etc etc.
Don't get me wrong, the Bx is a nice tractor but I'm only buying one. For me, If I bought a Bx I think I would regret not getting the B.

Oh and the best advance in the last 30 years..... Power steering!!

Should be about 1 week before its ready (have to wait for the tiller to come in) I can't wait. :licking:

Congratulations on your new tractor and hope the "first and last" thing works out for you:)

Congrats, I know you'll enjoy it for years to come. I just recently purchased a B2320 and went through the same scenario as yourself, only I started with a used riding mower.

congratulations - nice tractor. I've got the same one and 11 acres and it does everything I want it to do. Plows snow, brings firewood out of the woods, moves rock, gravel , dirt - so you should be all set for a long time.

Congrats to the nice machine. That is a really good story about your dad's tractor and your childhood.

Congratulations on your purchase. i bought my first and last tractor 6 years ago. It was a BX2200, FEL, MMM yep my first and last for a life time tractor instead of a disposable big box store mower. Well............that was number one of 10 Kubotas I've bought but I was certian it was my first and last, no question about it, non debateable. First and last.:)Any way again, congratulations on your first and last tractor.

Thanks everyone! I hope this is the first and last tractor anyway.
If I chose correctly (and I think I have) It will be the last one I need and will last just as long as the B7100 has lasted my dad.

Congrats and good choice ! I really like the B's as well - at least at this point in my life it is the perfect fit.

And both of you aren't that far from me. I sure know where Riley's is in Hooksett, and my son lives in the north end of Manchester. Yesterday when I was tilling with my tractor, and was just brushing trees, or rocks at the end of a pass in my gardens, I was pretty happy not to have a larger tractor. :D I had the loader off at that! This size has worked out very well for me, and I expect it will continue to. I still haven't tried mowing with it, or purchased a mmm, but it still is not totally out of the question. Everything else it has done just fine. I don't have the backhoe for it either, but expect that it would work pretty well though I do wish it had 180 degrees of swing.

Sure is a small world. Maybe I'll see you around

Looks like that Kuhn tiller is doing a good job
I've heard the mmm doesn't do that great of a job.
When a little lawn tractor is cheaper than a mmm I say use a lawn tractor. Save the hours on the tractor :)
The backhoe I didn't have enough work for to justify getting it. Only about a couple of days work if that. I'll rent one if I need.

Boy that sure is a good looking hard working tractor :). Nice northern New England (the best) spot too!

That's great! I did exactly the same thing this week. I had a BX2350 that was one year old. I traded it in for a B2620. I LOVE IT!! Like you said it has higher ground clearance, handles most tractor attachments with ease. The only thing I need to get better at is switching out the 3 pt. attachments. I hope and plan on it being my last tractor. I am still amazed at what I can do with it.
I got a 60" MMM, FEL, rake, aerator, clamp on bucket forks, and a 4 ft. rotary cutter. There are still a few attachments that I want, but will have to wait a while. It is a bigger tractor than the BX, but that is what I wanted. I haven't had a chance to mow with it yet, but am looking forward to it. I think that this is the perfect tractor for me. Plenty of power, and just a joy to use and even look at!
When I feel a twinge of guilt for going into debt for it, I just say that it;s my Harley. Not that I really feel guilty :). Everytime I get on it, it seems that I am getting better at using it. It's truly an awesome machine that I am so glad I have. I did a ton of research on this and other tractors. I only go with Kubota, so it wasn't a decision of brand. Just a decision of size. I almost bought a B3200, but am glad I went with the 2620.

What made you change from a BX to a B. Was is just a ground clearance issue. I have another thread on this, but I am trying to decide which to get. I am leaning heavily now toward the B2620.

Thanks

Well, that's a good question. I got the BX to be primarily to mow about 3 acres of yard. It was without question the finest mowing machine I had ever used. I used to use the disposable mowers up til then and got fed up one day with my Sears 26hp gas tractor lawnmower. I thought, I want one machine that will last me for life. And the 4 wheel drive on a mower was the greatest thing since sliced bread to me. I would usually go thru the other mowers in 4 or 5 season max.
I decided on the BX and loved it and still do for mowing.
I wanted a bigger unit that would let me mow (uses the same setup as the BX), and has a front end loader that does pretty darn well. I never used the BX loader, but I thought the bigger bucket and lifting capacity would be nice. It is!! :licking: I also have a garden and plowing with the BX was ok, but I like the higher ground clearance of the 2620 in the garden. It also does very well with the rotary cutter. I didn't have one when I had the BX. I have only had it a few days, but I love it so far. I am still getting used to switching out the 3 point hitch attachments. I also like the 60" belly mower that you can drive over when it's un hitched. Very versitile machine.
I haven't mowed with it yet, but I am hoping for the same results as the BX would and always gave me. Good luck in your decision.
I guess it all boils down to that the 2620 gives me the best of both worlds.

Great to see the NH tractors! I am happy with my BX25 but would have gone up to a B if my land was not so sloped. I also only have 3 acres to work with many items to avoid. So far my BH has seen more action than my FEL but my tiller is in so BH will be off more often. It has been years since I was at Riley's but I was in Litchfield then! :D Hope to see those B pics soon!
