Welcome and it must be nice to have so much money you need help spending it. :)

I wound up with a 60 HP old MF 265 that my FIL bought new in 1976. If I had been shopping I expect I would have leaned towards getting the 245 or 255. A friend has a nice 245 and it is a sweet size.

Now four years later I would not swap the 265 size for one any smaller. It will keep going when a small tractor would be hung. Because if the Cat 2 size 3PH I do not break stuff as bad.

I wanted a FEL for it but for about what a new one was going to cost me I got a very heavy FEL and another free 60 HP tractor with a dedicated backhoe. :)

Not everyone's cup of tea but I spend as much time on the 1983 JD 310B backhoe as the MF since I have a lot of dozing needs.

Weight is more important than HP in a work tractor. On our hills weight is very important.

Hi, and welcome to TBN,

We bought our Kubota B2320 w/ FEL & MMM in 2011, and while it generally meets our needs, there have been times when we wished for a larger more powerful tractor.

As they say:

Go Big or Go Home!

Good luck and happy tractoring!
Thomas

PS: I forgot to say: the best advice- Go Kubota! :)

Thanks for the input. I was really leaning toward the 4120 after I've read a few guys on here say don't waste the money on the 4320 for 5 more horse and spend it on an implement. What do you guys think about the price. Does $25,000 seem high for a tractor that is 3 years old with 290 hours and a 400x loader. Not sure if the tires are R1's or R4's or any other accessories. I plan on calling the sales guy first thing in the morning to get some more info on it and hopefully there will be another green to in the driveway by the weekend.

Is it Power Reverser or Hydro? Price may be about right if hydro, but take a look at it. like another poster said a rear hyd svc would be nice if equipped.

Buy the bigger tractor and keep the z track. Once you use one around the house - you wont want to use anything else.

Although I would love to take that thing off your hands, Pennsylvania to Texas and back is a little bit farther than I'm willing to travel.

It's a hydro, no rear hyd, and has R4 tires. I'm not a big fan of the R4's I was really hoping they were R1's. Pretty much sounds like a standard unit with a FEL.

I will never be without my z track. My dad has used it a couple of times when I was using his Kubota 7800 and he must of liked it so much that he went and bought a new Z930M with a 60 inch deck on Saturday!

I will be sure to keep you guys updated on my decisions. I'm going to the dealer bright and early Friday morning to have a look at the two used units that I mentioned and some new ones. Somebody had mentioned earlier about the gearbox problems on the MX6 brush cutter. What are everyone's recommendations for a 72 inch cutter instead of the John Deere?

Bush Hog, Rhino, Land Pride, Woods, but not their lightest duty units (all brands)

If replacing my MX6, my money would likely go toward a Bush Hog medium duty unit. With that being said, my MX6 was bought used with my first tractor purchase. I held on to it when I moved up in tractor. It is a 2004 year model and has served me well so far.

I have 3 MX6s. The that failed was an early one that I bought used. I should not have bought it - the oil was full of water, etc. I have been happy with my MX6 mowers.
