Ford 2610 3 pt sway

Hello. Does anyone have a stabilizer solution for a Ford 2610/2810/3910? The hitch sways side to something awful. I have a stabilizer bar but that doesn’t work with a quick hitch. The restraining chains are in place but that just keeps it from swaying all the way over end of the tires. My farmall 656 and LSMT7101 have excellent sway control. Any after market solutions? I'm not sure I understand the problem. Do you not have turnbuckles on each arm you can adjust? Different width implements will require the turnbuckles to be readjusted to reduce sway. Telescoping units may also be available but may be tractor specific.

When the lower arm balls are shot (really sloppy) or the cap screws that retain them are shot, you get side sway no matter how you set the stabilizers.

if it was mine, I'd buy a new set of lower balls and new bolts and weld them on (after cutting the old ones off of course.). When your balls are shot, things get real sloppy. replacement balls can be had with grease fittings too. One part on most tractors that never gets attention, lower balls.

That series of Ford tractors uses the long stabilizer bars. They go from under the fender mount to the end of the lift arm. If everything is correct, they should work with a quick hitch. Any way to provide pics with what you are having issues with?

No, no turnbuckles or telescoping arms. Never came with those

The balls are actually tight and there is no slop in them. The problem is no stabilizer system other than the bar that connects from a pin under the axle to the implement lower pin after the lower link is attached. It is a big pain in the butt and does not work well. And does not work with a quick hitch. . I’ve not seen any aftermarket stabilizers but that would be the solution. Has anyone seen such things for 2610, 2600, 3600, 3610 etc. etc.?

my Massey 135 had the same problem, we used a set of these instead of the crappy bars

I was thinking of something like this also. You would have to drill a hole in the lift arm 2 or 3 inches behind the outer ball to anchor the chain. the other end would go to the angle bracket under the axle where your current bar mounts.

I have a quick hitch with stabilizer chain links and turn buckles. I can adjust them as tight or as loose as I want. I don't understand why yours wouldn't work the same way. If you don't have turn buckles, they're missing.

You should have another set of pins on each side in line with the front pins on your lift arms. Usually on the bottom of fender mount bracket. Check if you have pins, or the holes they bolt into. My neighbors tractor didn't have any, I set him up. He truck patches two forties. He's been doing it all my life, I'm 52.
