If u have an auto parts store close by, they might have a
“Loan a tool” program..
Call and ask..and see if they have a steering wheel puller.

It's too late now but I would have used a bunch of degreaser or brake clean prior to removing or loosening and fittings and bolts on the pump area.
As others have said many places will have "rental" pullers and the bolt threads will best be verified by trail and error or a set of metric thread gauges.

sorry i was counting middle where nut is ,i see 2 threaded holes. my brother is doing work ,he said he got nut off and nut is now on hand tight ,until he can get cover off and me to ask about gear and key ? what is inside that can be lost or dropped in engine? I believe Zork answered this, my service manual does not cover this, and no pictures and that would help. We may have puller needed.it looks like fly wheel puller for briggs and stratton. Thanks everyone for your help.

My Brother came up with idea to address metric thread size, he and I do also have set of metric rethreaders, will use until until we find one then get bolt and match it to metric gauge board. He has an idea on how to prevent dropping key and keeping things together, he is inventive, I will try to take pictures if possible to get phone camera in there. He also as I do Thank everyone for joining in and telling us what to expect and how to handle this challenge.

Yes the puller needed is a challenge to find , my brother has several sizes but none would work, he ordered a mini puller we try again Saturday, I am attaching pictures of the round hole puller needs to fit. If anyone knows where to purchase one please share Thank you.

This should work. You can get it at Harbor freight or like mentioned maybe rent one from auto parts store.

The hole is 2-1/2 “ wide, bolts to fit the 2 holes on gear pump are 8mm-1.25 pitch. I ordered a puller from eBay for Bosch VE but it is for 5.9-6 Cummins engine, I have been mulling over taking my plasma cutting circle metal about 2-1/4” wide cut slots for bolts and tap and die hole for center, seems like it wouldn’t hurt to try,my brother is against me doing this, sibling chatter lol, It will take more time to ship ,repair, ship back , fuel pump and injectors, if it takes another week to find puller.

Brother has one and another set, but they are to big and bolts hit sides so they are in a bind. Puller needs to be round. Thanks

Notice in picture 1219 in attachment? Puller needs to fit in this hole and the 2 holes in the pump. The bolts when using this puller set, won’t go straight and angle in so to put puller in a bind. I went and bought 2 each 8mm-1.25 2-3" and 2-3-1/2 they weren't long enough. will keep you upated, again very thankful for all the help and suggestions.
