GM being sued

   / GM being sued #41
The ignition switch on my Kioti is close enough to my right knee that I have occasionally bumped it to OFF. So far, at least, this has just been an irritation...at least I don't have to worry about air bags being disabled when this happens.
Years ago I had a '70 Datsun truck. As it aged, the key and ignition switch wore enough that the key would vibrate out of the ignition and fall onto the floor...each time this happened I had to find the key before I could properly shut it off.
To a reasonable extent, I accept design and manufacturing defects; the real sin is failing to fix a problem when it comes to light. Operator error (reckless operation, distracted driving, failure to use safety features, etc) is beyond the responsibility of the manufacturer, though. It would be naive to think that a foolproof vehicle could ever be made; fools are just too ingenius.

You all are forgetting to mention one thing, GM KNEW about the bad
ignition switches 10 or more years ago.
They covered it up.
I hope GM goes out of business for this fiasco.

GM knew about this when the USA government owned the whole company. So, if I were the lawyers, I'd sue the USA government as well as the company.

Yes, Let's all sue ourselves. That'll teach us.

I've never been involved in a lawsuit in my life. Something must be wrong with me. I feel like I'm missing out on a piece of the free pie.

All this bashing. Do any of you think that only GM can cover up?
Ford Pinto. enough said.

If those who are bashing had the time to pick the brains of any brand's service adviser, you'll find that every brand has their problems. Even Honda, Toyota, Lexus, and KUBOTA.

Probably EVEN Deere!

Ya me too, then you and I can pay for all of the thousands of folks without jobs.Welfare, food stamps ring a bell ?? LOL

Its a free market: Another investor will stand up, buy whats left of GM and make it a better business. Bailing out loosers is not free market, and its contrary to Darwin's survival of the fittest (so it leads to degeneration of automakers)

It would be naive to think that a foolproof vehicle could ever be made; fools are just too ingenius.
Whenever a manufacturer thinks hes developing something fool proof, it turns out that in the mean time fools evolve too...
