I ordered my kit from the JD dealer. I can provide you with the part numbers if you'd like when I return to the shop.

Foggy - I just ordered a 3rd function kit complete with hard lines and will be installing it soon. Not having done this before, I would love to see close up pictures of your connections and 3rd function valves and anything else that I may encounter installing this. It looks straight forward but not having messed with hydraulics before a picture is worth a thousand words as the saying goes.

I'd take a few pic's and post 'em....but my camera battery is out of juice....and my charger is back at home - 200 miles away.

Here's what the JD set-up consists of: The pair of remote connections is located at the right rear side of the tractor above the 3 point. Two hoses conect to those Pioneer couplings and go forward to a point where the joystick hoses and couplers are located. At this point I have a coupling in these hoses....so that the loader can be disconnected (just like the joystick connections and in a similar size and location ). From this junction the hoses turn into hardlines and are attached to the loader frame. They go forward to the right front of the loader where another pair of couplers are located.

From the above couplers at the front of the tractor it's easy to connect your grapple hoses.

The hydrualic flow is controled from the the scv (selective control valve) which is located near your right knee on the tractor. It may be about a foot from the joystick valve. I have absolutely no issue with having to move my hand this few inches to operate the valve and close / open the grapple. No big deal.

I have read about folks that want / need a faster way to operate the grapple and they like their electirc over hydraulic switch. Fine....but at the end of the day it wont amount to a few seconds saved in operating the grapple (if any).

You should already have the SCV lever installed on your tractor.....you just need the kit to install the plumbing, hoses, couplers......and the hardlines kit to get things up to the front of the tractor.

OH....and if you do a search....I know you can find the exact pictorial install you are looking to find.

Thanks Foggy. JD site has a picture of the rear couplers, which are bracket mounted just rear and right of the seat, as you describe, so I have a picture in mind, as you described your dealer install. If you get the chance, I would appreciate the part numbers JD ordered to complete this install. I had my local dealer work up a quote; $ 800+ for just the power beyond and 3rd function valve body's, installed. (no plumbing, and or hand controls and or lines running to the loader) Hope to see the pics of the install, when you get your camera re-charged.

Thanks JD 4520. I would appreciate the part numbers the Dealership ordered, when you can post them.

Thanks JD 4520. I would appreciate the part numbers the Dealership ordered, when you can post them.

Here you go. These are John Deere part numbers:

3rd SCV (rear hydraulic outlet) LVB25513
3rd oil line kit (hard loader lines) BW16139

You could opt to make your own lines as many owners use flex hose and make their own. Probably half the cost if you chose this route. I choose to use the hard lines as noted above.
