61 outside right now, heading to upper 80's.

Had an ice cream date with the wife yesterday, then attacked the grasses.

Still more to do today, need to make some miles with the weed whacker around the perimeter fence pastures.

Not much else on the agenda. More legal stuff, need to go collect some more data for the states attorney. What a mess.

Hope all have a great day, be safe.

Good morning! Warm morning, 79˚F, partly cloudy, S wind, heading to 90˚. The last few day have been brutal all above 90˚.

Yesterday was picture day for the old house as we are continuing get it ready to sell. Had the group of realtors from our realtors office come by for a pre-look and had one lookey-loo who lives in Hawaii (via her sister's phone). It will get listed in MLS this weekend and maybe an open house. The ring doorbell is allowing us to see all who enter, a nice feature.

Work continues on the new house. Floors are getting refurbished before we move in. I have to unlock at 8am each morning this week. Found 3 outside plugs not working in the porch kitchen area, breaker appears ok, might be a switch I missed or a gfi trip, needs more investigation.
We knew this house would have lots of little surprised because the previous owner was 90+ and could do very little maintenance.

Pool robot did another good job, he might get to stay. Water temp is 85 in the afternoon might be spash-day this weekend when air temps threaten to reach 100˚ for first time this year. Sure will be nice just to have one house to maintain, soon, I hope.

who's porch is it anyway? Which one is Alpha?

air cooked fresh potatoes sounds good, can you cut them as thin as shoestring potatoes?

Grandson pic is great!
Songs sound really good too for no editing. Thanks!

Ha! Newest vehicle in our "fleet" is 2015. Rest are 2010 or older....

Daughter just bought her grandma's car. She's 18, on our policy. Liability $36/month. If I add comp and collision it goes up to $136/month for her. Car is worth maybe $7000.

I did not remember, but our company said that her liability covers her for UM/UIM. I asked the verification of this about 3 kinds of ways, and agent said with liability alone, she is covered if she's not at fault, and other person at fault has no insurance. This is a real thing because of the number of people that have recently arrived, and use the fake paper license plates.

Work is going to sell me an old Powerbilt planer, that might need a new belt. Blades seem sharp. Getting it for a great price. Hope to get middle daughter started on some wood working projects like maybe birdhouses. Need a scroll saw too for artistry type cutting.

My young team is really learning the Mitutoyo Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) at work. already learning to program it too. I am amazed at their ability to learn things. I think 1 is maybe near the genius level, although his calculus based physics final knocked him back into a lower earth's orbit.

I was thinking about Bird too the other day. I remember when he lived near Waco and repaired pneumatic air impacts and such. Prayers for him and family.

Puppy pics are nice. I have watched the puppy show during super bowl halftime....

Asking a question, how have you motivated your kids to keep doing well at school? My son is bored with it. He makes really high grades. At one time a couple of years ago, he told me he wanted to be valedictorian when he graduates high school. He's just finishing 8th grade. Now he says he will continue to do "good" at school, but doesn't want me harping on him to excel. He is a world class procrastinator. I have not harped at him much, but I've told him he should do his best just for his own satisfaction. It's just not that important to him to be #1 anymore. I'm trying to keep him motivated, without driving a wedge between us. In 5th grade, he was tied for top student. In his middle school, they don't rank them AFAIK. I want to find out where he stands so it might help his mother and I guide him. I may ask the principal if they can give me his rank. One friend said to give him $$$ for every year he stays near the top. He is signed up for the all the advanced classes they offer. I am blessed to have him for a son. Am trying not to be a "tiger" dad. He's not sure what he "wants to be when he grows up"....and I understand that.
Kyle, you are doing just fine with your son. Showing interest and giving him guidance. We have been through it all with kids from one end of the spectrum to the other. One son would want to retire at our house after high school that he barely graduated from and we gave him a choice move out or sign up for the military and he signed up. One daughter was very smart and she was bored with school. Teacher called on her for not listening or paying attention and asked what did we talk about? And she recited the conversations word for word and she is now doing very well. Staying interested and motivating him as you are doing and it will all come together.

Morning all,64 going to 87 and sunny.
Got the pool cover stowed with my sons help and started powerwashing the pool surround , that will continue today and then off to the rear deck powerwashing.
Still need to fix garage door springs/motor.

Kyle - with our son it's all about earning rewards, gpa > etc. We align these to him keeping above a threshhold, and not being specific to any particular courses. Seems like you have that well covered.

We also tried to get him exposure to different courses and experiences. The music one he took too immediately, sports, not so much.
He wants to be an english teacher, instead of pushing back, we looked at options that could go along with this, like script writing for tv, and signed him up for a summer course in that so he could try it.
Sounds like you have done a fantastic job , so maybe see if the school has clubs or volunteer work that may curb the boredom. My son joined an art club and NEHS among a few others. The art one did not pan out, but he had fun anyway.

Deer got hit in front of house on main road, need to check later to see if town cleaned it up, or not..

Be well,

Good Morning
65° and brilliantly sunny. High of 85.

Yesterday went surprisingly well. That means that after starting the day sawing and jackhammering concrete, followed by sitting in the car for an hour and then an airplane for two more going to Maine and back, I experienced no pain or stiffness. My wife made me take a couple of Tylenol before I left as a preemptive measure. I had been complaining about back pain for the last few days, she gave me some serious stinkeye when she saw me with the jackhammer.
However I think the jackhammer fixed my back. She’ll say it was the Tylenol, but I’ll take it either way.

Today I’ve got no real plan other than be entertained by the contractors that have already been here for over an hour. I’ll probably fire up the grill and feed them at lunch time.

The RC runway needs to be mowed, so I’ll probably get to that as well.

Have to go back to Portland tomorrow, Palm Beach on Friday, and then I’m home for at least week.
