I agree with others just go for the 14K as you'll use it somewhere down the road. Probably won't pull any harder than a 12K anyway. I have BP because I pull with a van and don't have the option. The 22-24' trailers will tow nice no matter what. Pros and cons were well stated in previous posts. Properly balanced load on BP will roll down the road like its not even on there.

I have a 20' BP and a 24' GN. I find the GN takes more space going around curves (have to swing wider) than the BP because the axles are located back further. Both tow equally well. For me it is easier to back up the BP since it will turn easier (for the opposite reason, axles are closer to tow vehicle). Backing the GN into tight places takes more steering wheel movement to get it turning where you want it to go.

The reason it takes less steering wheel movement to back a BP is not so much where the trailer axles are but just the fact that it is hitched to the tail of the truck and not forward of the rear axle. When you turn the steering wheel the back end of the truck will always swing faster and further then the midpoint, hence you can get the trailer turned quicker. But what you say is true also; having the axles more forward on a BP does help it turn more quickly when backing in tight quarters as well.

I am a BP guy Two reasons. First I like the use of my bed and need it about 75% of the time I am towing. Like today hauled my dads Corvette on the trailer with the bed full of fire wood on the way home along with my daughter's Barbie Jeep. Hey, got to keep them happy at grandpa's.

Second, I have owned a few SUV's and that would be a deal breaker on a GN.
