If I didn't have the Harley Rake The guy would have had to bring in fill. There is no other cost effective way to prep this site for seeding than using the Harley rake. The very stoney area had a total of 4 passes. The other areas around the house had only 2.

I traded my 6' pulverizer in for a harely last spring, The dealership let me try it for 30 days. NO WAY I would spend that much money without a long test drive. I agree with all for the job it does. I spend alot less time preparing a seed bed now. I put in a very large yard last week, it took one hour to make a 2" pass & and a shollow pass.after that I added 300LBS of seed with a 6' primary seeder. My old pulverizer would have taken me 3 hours to do the same job. My .02

The Harley Rake:

Grades and levels, especially with an 8'.

Collects debris either in rows or pull it along with the endplates.

Pulverizes the soil and creates a perfect seed bed.

You can work very dry soil and wet soil.

I use it to level out fresh gravel or chew up a pot holed graveled road.

Harley claims you can even dethatch lawns with it. I assume they mean on the smaller models due to larger machine weight.

All this can be done in as little as 1 to 2 passes, depending on soil and debris conditions.

The Harley rake is built very tough. I will break something on my tractor before the rake will break.

What happens when you hit something it can't pass?
How much (tough question) leveling can it do? The depth of it's "tilling"? Does it drag soil around for low spots?

So what's the learning curve about with these? Seen several references to it taking quite a long time to get good with it. (one said 20-30 lawns!) I'm still in the curve with my box blade so i understand that weirdness. What's weird (hard) about operating a Harley?
