Has anyone named their machine?

Sometimes I call my machinery many different names like: P.O.S., #@%!'in POS and the like. Depends on if it lets me down or not. But I always love them when I get'em fixed and they are workin again. No offense to anyone, but I have developed my own language when dealing with my machinery.:laughing:

I named t the "Rice Paddy Special". It has a round 2200 badges on the sides of the hood. I took a Dymo Letra Tag label machine with silver tape and made Rice Paddy Special emblems and it really surprised me how well they matched the 2200 badge. I've had several people tell me they thought they came on it and was really the correct name from Yanmar. I think I will stop telling them I made them and just let them assume it was factory emblems.

I haven't named the old 57 Ferguson TO35 or the '62 Cub Cadet "Original", but Ol' Red Mule sounds fitting for the Ferguson since it is my heavy duty tractor out of what I have available.

We have a Allis Chalmers WC that has had the steering and rear axle reversed and then a pallet fork loader was then added, We use it everyday at 1 of our stores and Our operations Manager, Named her "Ole Maude" about 10 years ago and it stuck. Ken Sweet

I call my B7800 "Tater" I even have a name tag on the back of it saying the same.

I also have a little John Deere riding mower, naturally I had to name it "Tot" .

Well, there's "Daisy the Digger" for the Ford 4550 backhoe. The "new" (to us, anyway) little White lawn tractor is "Tilly" since she hauls the tow behind tiller around. The other little lawn tractor/mower doesn't have a name yet either, but it's not at the farm yet since it's still being worked on. It will most likely be name "Moe" since it has a mowing deck on it. The blue Ford tractor is about half restored, once it gets out to the farm, it will get a name probably having something to do with what jobs it will do most often. Maybe "Petunia" if it pulls a plow often enough, otherwise, I dunno yet. They all get names, though. The car's name is "Rosie" but what else can you call a '52 MGTD?

I have a beat up B8200 that I was referring to as the Iron Mule, which ended up as "Irma".

It came with a seriously trashed Sidewinder brush cutter that isn't worth it's weight in scrap, but I've decided to try to patch it back together just to see if I can make it cut, even for a little while. If it does, it will be called "Scar Face".

And to do the work on Scar Face I made my own arc welder out of microwave oven transformers (just for fun). It has been dubbed "Lightnin".

I used a full size case 580 for about 10 years and my neighbor would pull up in his kabota B2910 and i always thought it looked like a toy because it could just about fit in the loader. Then I got My B7100 and he pulled up one day on his kabota and it looked like mine could fit in his loader. After that I started calling mine the Toybota because it looks like a toy compared to his. It is surprising what these small tractors can do.
