How difficult to install factory Kubota rear remote kit?

Ok thanks guys.

I've got another newbie question for y'all, that I can't quite figure from the manual:
transmission oil and hydraulic oil - are these one and the same?
In my L4330 Owner's Manual, it refers to Transmission oil when the tractor has the HST. When it's a geared tractor (like mine) it's referred to as Hydraulic Oil. Same fluid - SUDT.

Ok just to report back. I think I got it all installed ok. It wasn’t terribly difficult. I’m yet to give actually start the tractor, so I will let y’all know whether it indeed works shortly. The instructions are certainly a bit lacking, sometimes you had to defy them or else it logically could not be assembled. Both the instructions and the exploded diagrams leave out an entire (large) bolt which is supplied and clearly necessary. There’s a puzzling number of o-rings left over, but after scrutinizing the instructions for a forth time over I’m positive they’ve not been left out of anything.

Kubota’s tolerances are impressive, the whole thing only just squeezes in. The biggest concern I have is with the end of the bolt pictured which sticks out far enough to press against the fender. I didn’t notice as I was tightening the fender retention bolts that it was pulling it in against the bolt- enough to slightly bend the fender and knock off some paint.
I’m worried it might be putting a dangerous amount of pressure on the whole remote assembly…?

I guess if I remove the fender again I should be ok to just grind the end of that bolt off? I can’t see that I’ve put it on incorrectly

Hopefully you used all the o-rings that were needed and the ones you have left are just extras.

Start it up and use it.....pay attention to all your fittings and valves til your confident there are no leaks

An old joke is how many times do you have to rebuild a carburetor before you have enough spare parts left over to build a second carburetor. When I rebuilt the valves on a piece of equipment the kit had so many extra parts I called the dealer, he said they had no idea why there were so many extra parts in some of the rebuild kits.

Is that the bolt that goes through the entire valve body? I can't see where the head is. I'd vote for either cutting it off or putting it in the other direction if that's a possibility.

FWIW, I installed a similar kit on my old L3010 HST. The biggest problem I had was getting access to the tractor hydraulic port. I wound up taking the tire and fender off which turned out to be most of the work. The actual valve install was fairly easy.

This may be completely different with the B2301 however.

Hello folks,
I’m new here but wanted to show Tallguy my B2601 recently Dealer installed OEM rear remotes. I included some photos of my setup and the spacer that has the square notch in it looks like mine is different. The bolt on yours may not be screwed in far enough.
The nut on mine is flush with the end of the long threaded rod, and leaves a slim gap Between the fender.
The Diameter of the spacer Is .786 of a inch, and the length is 2.900 of a inch.
I hope this may help you as a reference.
I only have 10 hrs on my first and only tractor.
Only 21 more weeks until Brian from FitRite Hydraulics sends me my Top and Tilt cylinder order.
Those extra O Rings are indeed replacements as I got some in packages from the dealer when they returned the unit After the install just a couple weeks ago.
One of the valves is the B7305 which is the valve with Float detent option.

Oh wow, thanks Shish, that does definitely help. Looks like mine is no where near in far enough.
I will be removing the fender again and checking that threaded rod/bolt to make sure it is in all the way. It was hard to get a grip on it when trying to tighten it, since it just has threads on either end and no head to put a spanner on. So I will try some vice grips.

Thank you also to the others for your comments/reassurance.

bdhsfz6 you are right, most of the work is in getting to the area to fit the unit. Next time I would remove the wheel as well as the fender like you said.

Sure are. Hopefully, you are staying up on your maintenance. Kubota install instructions are pretty straightforward. I see they even supply latex gloves, nice touch. I did a 2 speed PTO conversion on one of my M9's and they even supplied a tube of 3 bond gasket maker for the mating flanges. Didn't get no latex gloves though...lol

Just follow the instructions step by step and you won't have any problems.

Far as removing the fender, block up the rear of the tractor securely, remove the right hand tire and rim and unbolt the fender, noting where all the rubber cushions, grommets go and have at it. I've found that when a bolt or screw is tough to remove, a bit of heat from a propane torch helps a lot. Finally, be sure to stick to their torque specs.

Kubota only uses one transmission and / or gearbox oil, SUDT. That goes in the front axle too (if your unit is front wheel assist).

Have fun, a nice weekend project.
