Today at work... boss was gonna scrap an old gravely mower gas tank... we've been talkin about a chain box for the L4310 for months...



A peice of angle iron, a quick cut with the torch to shape the end a little to fit the tank...



And here we have a nice little chain can... about an hour of my time and free materials.

Bossman, a real wiseguy, said he was going to write "Diesel Fuel Only" by the filler cap (on the side, half way down! Try filling that!) which I intentionally left visible, as well as it was the nicest looking painted side. Nearly the right color too!

I need to find some edge moulding, the top edge where I cut the end off the tank is going to slice somebodys hand (likely mine, I end up ground man most of the time when chains are used!) Even though I did my best to file/deburr the cut edge... it still sharper than is safe.
