What exactly is 'flyover country' anyway? I've always wondered about that term. Like the word 'woke'. Haven't a clue what that is either.

LOL ...

And just so you know a city like Austin Texas, although in a "flyover" state is NOT considered Flyover country and for the same reasons as New Orleans. So Some big cities in "flyover country" are NOT actually in flyover country. At least to "woke" individuals. See? aren't you glad you asked about this?
Hey lighten up. If I responded to your points with each of its opposites, I would get banned for not being 'politically correct' by present standards. We're all in this epidemic together, we might as well get good at enduring it, that's the point of this thread.

I find 'woke' to be comical, as you likely do. My most recent encounter with Woke was at the hardware store in painfully hip West Sonoma County. Late-20's female cashier didn't take out her earbuds, asked me if I wanted a bag, then after ringing up the sale didn't provide one so I asked for it. Instant rage. "You're never going to be a lesbian female so you're never going to be as cool as me!" was the too-obvious message. Whatever, lady. I still want a bag. We find those folks amusing too.

Apparently Andrew Cuomo's antibody study postulates that 2.7 million NY residents have likely had Covid-19. Or about 13.9% of the entire NY population. So considering that the total NY confirmed cases is about 270,000, Then that means that this has spread in a X10 manner. An entire order of magnitude greater than at first thought. This seems to validate the Santa Clara study. More or less. This just means that we are closer to "herd immunity" than at first thought.

I am sorry. Did I address you in any way? I thought I was just answering 5030's question. I sure didn't mean to address you. Why would you feel the need to refute any of my descriptions? They are just my opinions. And I am entitled to them aren't I? Or maybe not, seeing as how I live in "flyover country". And I darn sure aren't "woke" or "politically correct, "nor am I a "social justice warrior".

All it takes is for one adult to not respond to a supposed slight. If there is someone, or several people, who you find annoying, put them on your ignore list. Please.

k0ua I live on the west coast, I'm sure that's obvious from my screen name. Why refute your descriptions? Because they are aimed squarely at what you described as coastal people. Me included. Can you hear out an opposing view or are you grandstanding for only people who agree with you?

Responding to a different point -
Does my citing sources offend people? My intent is to let anyone who wants to know more about a topic, dig into more detail.

I don't name links to sound more credible. If that's what someone thinks - no! This whole coronavirus thing is so unknown that nobody really understands it or where it is going. All we have so far is a small increase in understanding of its effects so any new information is interesting - but credibility of any new information is far from proven.

It sounds like the hot spots that are congested have spread the virus heavily, but still have 85% of their community population at risk. I wonder what the rest of the country will test at? Areas that have hardly any cases might have sub 1% post infected and 99% at risk yet. I was hoping for over 50% already.
