Bobster, I got the one with a five hp Honda motor. I got item # 1120-1401. It is usually 1k but is on sale now for $899 plus they put it on EZ pay for free. This unit comes in pieces in a box. That kept the freight to $168 Vs the $328 that the other unit you mentioned costs. It took a couple of hours diddelin and $25 worth of Hydraulic fluid and oil but it was no biggie to put together if you can lift heavy stuff. The nice thing about Northern is they use Yellow feight and more often than not when comeing to a residential address they send a lift truck. The other unit has two nice features. A log craddle and it also has the GX Honda (5.5 hp) which is the commercial version Vs GC Honda (5 hp ) on the one I got. The cost difference between the two is the engine. For my camp/home use I didn't feel I would get any benefit out of a commercial unit. Overall I think it was a great buy at $1,068 TOTAL ! I'll take some photos of it in action this week end. Dave

Here's what I do . I go to one of the local logging companies .
I buy their culled out wood . It's a mix of maple,cherry and various oak species . Mostly Cherry . It cost between 400 and 500 bucks a tri-axle (logging truck ) load delivered . There's about 6 chords (conservatively ) in a load . I still have to cut it to length and split it . But it sure beats the heck out of putting wear and tear on my truck . And , I don't have to limb any of it . Which I really Hate !! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif John

Sounds like a good Idea. I got a cord delivered. I'm not at all happy with the quality. Inconsistent lenghts, & diameter. Some will have to be cut &/or split to fit into my stove.
