Pressure Washer Hoses
i quote
"If you are working at heights, remember that all the weight of the pressure washer hoses when filled with water can be pulling on the hose fitting The best manufacturers sell pressure washer hoses that are skived before coupling. Skiving means the outside rubber cover is partially removed to allow the metal fitting to be crimped to the wire braiding of the hose. This process provides a solid metal to metal solution with good strength."
we do lots of pressure washer hoses and we get so many contractors tell us our hoses are excellent because ends never blow off like their previous suppliers hoses did. weatherhead has a compression style fitting which just does not hold up for hot water pressure washing, ends move or blow after time.
a pressure washer hose operating at 3000psi every second and with hot water at 200 degrees fahrenheit is way tougher on a hose than any farm application
other than maybe a backhoe.[/QUOTE]
Sorry dude, the Z series from Weatherhead and modern fittings from the other major manufacturers bite the wire
through the cover, no skiving necessary.
I don't see too many questions on here about people operating pressure washers at extended heights but when I do, I'll be sure to send them your way. :confused2:
And the last sentence italicized, these people have obviously never seen a farmer at work. 3,000 psi is the pressure washer pump output. Farm tractors are around that, however, the pressure spikes brought on by the equipment use far exceed that. it's not constant pressure that kills a hose, it's surging which causes flexing which causes fatigue.
