Hi, i am on project building a homemade hydraulic logging winch, using a Hamilton box reducer 1:37 and a 110A series Parker hydraulic motor, with hight torc and low speed. fixing all those parts on a frame. the oil supply will be a PVP33 Parker pump 33 cu inch displacement, the only things i have to do is building a frame to fix the pump on the rear frame of my IH B275 tractor i have to twist my pump to turn CW because if i face it to the pto its CCW rotation. i apologize for my poor english its not my usual language, will take pictures and show you my project.

welcome and I can't wait to see your pic's..

I am looking forward to seeing pictures too.

A question or two: if my mental math is right, at 540 rpm that pump will produce around 75 gallons per minute and if it is working at 2000 psi pressure will require about 85 horsepower to drive it. Does the IH B275 have that much horsepower?

Depending on length, etc., your pressure hoses will have to be 1 1/2 inches in diameter at least, and the suction line over 2 inches. Isn't that going to be awkward to work with?

Glad to have you as a member.

Yoseph,
The Parker PVP33 is 33 CC/rev which is 2 cubic inches displacement.

What is the RPM of your PTO? 540 or 1000?

At 540 RPM you will get 4.6 GPM

At 1000 RPM you will get 8.6 GPM

Will this pump operate properly at 540 RPM? Some pumps do not work very well below 600 RPM and other below 900 RPM.

It will operate at 1100 rpm, what i going to do to add 26 teeth to 13 teeth sprocket linked with Reynolds high strength chain, then my 540 output rpm will be 1080, witch is enough to operate my PVP33 at this speed the flow will be 10 gallon/min related to the manufacturer's data. the psi vs flow delivery is set by a built in gauge in the pump, one turn in /550psi. the flow can be set between 0 to the max at 17ー of the swash plate moving the plungers chamber.
my power take of is 33 HP or 25KW
thanks for your comments, will be glad to read you best knowledge and comments
will post pics as soon as possible

the frame is on the way, first fitting the axles, alignment, the jaw clutch must be smooth and easy to engage, the drum must be closest as possible at the center of the frame base, the next is welding the base, and fixing the parker motor to the gearbox the coupling is an elastic jaw.

do you think it will be fast enough to skid logs?

Hi Sizzami
the speed depends on the flow pump output at 1500 psi and 14 GPM my motor runs at 447 RPM /37 after the worm gear 12.08 RPM*4inch drum diameter*3.14=152 inch/min about 13 feet/min
i think at this speed its enough for me, i could increase the speed by incresing the pump flow
thanks

I have looked at some of the worm drive gear boxes at my local Princess Auto. Even the large ones are only rated for 1-2 hp on the input. You will need to add a pressure gage, start out at a low pressure (500psi?) and see how it works. My concern is that you will blow that gearbox if your hydraulic motor puts out more then a couple of HP.

Hi David
I think your are right, now i am changing my plans to use roller chain sprockets reduction rather than my hamilton box, i will use two stage reduction 1:2.6 then 1:3.2 the output is 1 to 8.32, my pull power will be less than i expected, Thanks for the comments David
