Once you become 1 with your welder (s) you won't be dependant on the door panel parameters or even meters. You just dial it in by sound. You'll know if it sounds right for a particular thickness. I mean .035 wire runs from approx 16-20 volts for optimum. Not too broad of a range so it should be fairly easy to dial it in. On the 115v wire feeds you get a little range with 023 but 030 is pretty much wide open and adjust the wire.

Ha, that takes more time than I have. I'll weld off an on for hours on one day then not touch it for a couple weeks. I usually get it dialed in until I move to something where the settings need to change. All there are is 1 to 10 lines on the adjusters so I started using a sharpie to mark for certain steel thicknesses. Problem is when I kinda get lost on where to go, more volts or wire speed etc then I second guess myself. It makes great welds when I get the sweet spot just have a hard time getting there at times. I printed out the info someone put early on for what to look for, that should help. Sorry, didn't mean to take over this thread. :)

Maybe you should have bought a different welder.... Door charts are pretty much standard on big name units....

That’s an odd comment.

No... Just saying that its a short coming of a particular brand... Sort of like a steering wheel missing on the new car you buy.... Maybe you should buy a car that includes steering wheel....

I`m guessing my Lincoln has a chart. What kind of a man reads instructions. Maybe one that CAN weld, lol

Not hardly, it would be more comparable to: just the driver's license manual is not included with the car. If you buy a car, you don't expect training and the knowledge required to drive it to be the car company's responsibility.

Interesting analogies.
