Nope.

My posts have been moderated a few times since I've joined here. After rethinking what I posted, it have always decided it was well deserved. Yes I have complained about the level of moderation before. And I got to know Muhammad real quick.......:)
Now, the moderators job (unpaid of course)? That's a hard one, but there usually is more than one moderator involved in the decision along with discussions from the Administrators before something is deleted or locked. Threads might be temporarily locked until a good consensus can be reached on how to deal with a thread. We have to realize that this site is frequented by guests as well as members from all over the world, no matter their age/sex/religion. Some posts/threads get flagged as inappropriate by other members, which the moderators will try to keep under control.
This is a place where we have been welcome to participate in to share information and enjoy our common interests, as long as it's appropriate for the viewing public. No membership dues have been assessed so far.

Just my thoughts on the whole thing.

I dont see why it would be OK. A good experience is just as subjective as a bad one, and just as likely to be biased. Intentionally or not. I would go for both because I think free information flow is the greater benefit.

A dealer doesn't have to worry about his/her reputation getting smeared by a compliment. ;)

Exactly what I have been trying to tell you Moss:eek:

Any good dealer will debate in public , because he has nothing to hide !!!

I bend over backwards to please our customers with a problem.

So whats wrong with inviting a dealer on here to discuss a problem with a

machine he sold you that your not happy with, that way others can see how the dealer treats his customers after the sale:confused:

Does anybody else have a problem with that?

I like to keep it clean, informative and friendly. I have learned much during my short time here and tried to reciprocate to the best of my ability. What I like most about TBN is much practical experience members offer and the capacity I see for people to laugh at themeselves and carry a civil and humble conversation. With freedom always comes responsibility and rule of law in a civil society, TBN is no different . :)

Here's how that will go...

"My dealer is a crummy dealer and won't give me satisfaction so I'm inviting him here to contradict my testimony regarding the problem I had with ....."

(crickets chirping in background because he isn't going to reply)

Or, you will get a legal notice in the mail from his attorney since you posted all of your accurate personal information.

I'm a moderator a few different places, and this seems to be moderated a little more tightly than those other places. Not that it's necessarily a bad thing, but it's something to have to keep in mind. It's ok with me since I come here for tractor information here, and I can still joke around with the people on the other forums I frequent without as much concern about "the line" and crossing it.

Each and every forum out there has it's own "personality", set in part by the owners/admins/moderators and part by the general population of the board. It can change gradually over time or not. This one's personality seems to be more of a PG type atmosphere at most, and that's ok if that's where the balance lies.

So basically what I guess I'm trying to say is it's not quite as fun (IMO) as other boards from the joking around point of view, but it is an informative resource regarding tractors and the like, so I reckon l tolerate the tighter moderation standards in exchange for being able to access the information that's here.
