So on to the next question. other then the price why would you buy a certain bx model? such as bx 1850 versus 2350 etc...

maybe the better question would be is there a reason to buy one versus the other?

Will one do something the other will not?
I already have the same tractor as the BX2350 in my BX23.
I also have A CC GT 2554 that's smaller than the BX23 to mow on some slopes I won't get on with the larger BX23.
Since it's smaller than the BX23 I also use it to mow in the smaller tighter areas that I can't get the BX23 into.
I'm wanting to replace the CC with a tractor that is about the same size as it is and has the following features.
Diesel Engine.
4 wheel drive
Locking differential
Hydraulic lift for the front blade
Hydraulic lift for the rear tiller
Hydraulic mower lift
Power Steering
Rear and mid Power Take offs
Rear 3 point hitch
Rops
Since the BX1500 or BX1830 is closer to the size of the CC than it is to the BX 23 I chose the BX1500.
Or to put it another way the BX1500 is closer to the size of the CC than the BX23 or 2350 is.
The question is not is one BX model better or worse than another.
The Question is which one best suits the task you have in mind for it.

My choice was based on size needed and the intended purpose of the machine not upon which which BX model was better or worse than another.

Check other dealers on the x700's. My dealer gets a little over 10k for them. I bought a x495 with 120 hours on it for $7200. JC

3*I can put a power angled blade on my CC2554 garden tractor so it's hard to believe I couldn't do the same on a BX1500 or my BX23.

I was speaking of the G1900 which he asked about. They don't sell a hydraulic angle blade for that one.

The 748 is smaller and more nimble that a BX1500 and is great for those of us who can afford it and want a nice LITTLE 4x4 diesel for tight areas.

1*A JD X500 is a big step down from either a Kubota G or BX.
The X500 is a SLT- (Super lawn tractor.)
2*It's basically what the Cub Cadet 1500 models are.
3*$9k still seems like a lot to spend on a Sub compact tractor, but a Kubota BX really would be a good long term investment you won't likely regret.

1*Got that rite.
2* The OP would be dropping clear down almost to the same level he already has with The CC1050 if he were to go with an x500.
Worse yet it would be at the loss of thousands upon thousands of dollars.
3*But it's a lot less than 11300 wasted on a Garden tractor when a Sub Cut would serve him better for a lot less money.

Getting in on this topic late, but I have to say that the Kubota G series is sweet. Ran one for about 3 hours last year for someone else and all I can say is it was the nicest mowing machine I have ever driven. Everything seemed perfect to me, the HST, Power Steering, Deck, Operator Platform and the tight turns.

It was a European spec G18 that had a direct collect 48" mower. If I was a after a garden tractor of this price this would so be the one I would get, no questions :D :D

Rlbol - get the 2350 over the 1850 if you can afford it. The bigger engine will give that much more power and the 60" deck is worth it. Also, on 5 acres, think about other tasks, not just mowing. More PTO power = more versatility. AND DON'T FORGET THE FEL!!!! You'll double the machines usefulness with it and will wonder why you never had one before!

1*The only complaint I would have about them at this point is there paint. Every one i have seen the paint is starting to fade, and these are on brand new ones!
2*I liked the more modern look of the GR.
3*Then there was the G model with the kubota gas engine and a 60" deck sitting next to it.
4*I did not get to mow with the G but I did drive it around to see how maneuverable it was and I was amazed at it.
5* It handled wonderfully, was very quick and the power steering;nice.,
6*I guess comparing it to my CC LT1050 you can see my amazement between them!
7*I would have purchased the G model in a second if the price hadn't been so close to a BX
Rlbol
8*So now I am on to the BX either a 1850 or 2350.
I would prefer a 2350 because the 1850 will not run the 60" deck. and
9*the prices I have been getting are very close.
1*That's odd cause every new one I saw at my dealers Saturday was so bright and shinny they almost hurt my eyes.
The only dull faded ones I saw were a couple of old ones from back in the 80s and they weren't any worse than the other old brands of tractors they were setting among.
2*I don't care for the modern blimp / balloon look of anything.
I hate the cars and pickups - they look like cigars on wheels.
3*I like their looks a lot better.
4*No comparison between it and the 1050 is there?
5*PS makes a big difference doesn't it?
6*Yep <> you were bring the upper level garden tractors and Sub=Compacts down to the 1050 level and missing the true picture.
7* How close were the BX and the G/GR prices? Got any examples?
8*Or even better a BX24.
9*What prices did you get on these?
BX1850
BX2350
BX24
& the
G series
GR series

I am dealing on a new BX1500 subcompact with a 48'' MMM for $7500.
That beats the crap out of a JDx700 garden tractor for $10000.
I checked out the JD x455 and x445.
Couldn't see 6 to 8 thousand bucks for a used garden tractor when I can get the new BX1500 subcompact for $7500.

Your comparing apples and oranges, not list prices.

I paid $10,500 for a JD X748SE (List $13,500). It has a 3 cyl silky smooth 24HP diesel instead of 2 cyl, It also has a full suspension seat, and a 54" mower. I got in in Dubuque, IA. I'd guess you could get an X700 for around $7,500 if you shop around. At least make fair comparisons.

Also, the blade is listed on the Kubota web site is manual angle adjust. I didn't see a hydraulic angle option. I'm sure you could do it if you wanted to mess with it. My 748 came standard with all the hydraulics including float. The blade was $490 for a 54" and has quick attach and hydraulic angle. FYI.

The BX1500 is probably still a better tractor for some but it wasn't for me. I have nothing against Kubota.. I love my L3400. I just needed the smaller rig.
