Kubota BX series ridiculous transmission

This is an engineering, design, flaw that Kubota will not fix because of obvious ECONOMIC REASONS!

If this happened on your American Car most you guys would be Bit--ing up a storm about the poor quality vehicle they made.

Your dam right I'd be complaining, I didn't spend this kind of money on something that is defective. Sorry I work hard for this kind of cash and feel I have the right to complain.

There seems to be a large number of us that do not like this "feature".. What is our next step ???
Contact Kubota with a petition ? a lawyer ?? a class action suite ???
Trade them in on a JD ?

Just to get this fixed....

shifting into neutral while still moving in reverse?! I thought the hi/lo needs a complete stop in order to shift without grinding gears. I noticed the BX's cannot shift on the fly, the though of you doing that makes me shudder. You probably got it "trained" :p to do what you want and I hope it stays that way. When you say is it safe? IMHO, I say it probably safer then the reverse jerk. Now the question here is how much is the tranny for the BX25 and does the mounting points match up on the BX24 ? Would this be a ok fix ?

I was told by service manager that the new transmission from the 60 series will not fit, it would have to have different mounting brackets welded on ect.ect. It's very frustrating to say the least. Internal parts also won't fit becouse of changes inside. My salesman sold 50 fifty series tractors and has had five people not counting me that have gone to the 60 series. More are unhappy but won't go for a new tractor. two customers traded for a 2305. I would have went green but I'm locked in to the BX with the loader and snowblower. It would have cost much more to change. But I wanted to. This kind of stuff is not what got this company where they are today. As long as they have customers that will defend them and find fault with someones driving they can keep getting away with it.

James- thanks for letting us know about the fit. However, I do not want to trade in. I like the kubota, I am not going with JD. Its doing a great job so far, but the reverse.......... well- lets just say its not something I want to post here. I only, only, only want kubota to step up on this and make an offer to correct this. Why get ugly if they can tell us how to fix it or provide a "magic add on part" to resolve this? For those who have BX23's/older and 25's- bless you. You are definitetly lucky.

Well is this going to die ???

Can the moderator set up some kind of poll / survey post so that everyone that sees this as a problem can answer and then send this list to Kubota..

Kubietwo: Man, what planet are you from? You don't own a BX so how can you be so sure it's operator error??? I've owned a BX24 for 6 months and I'm extremely happy with it except for this one obvious defect. Try as I might to use a very light foot on the reverse pedal to lessen the jolt I'm only successful about half the time and it gets very frustrating. I do believe it is a safety issue.

whatever1,

you ask if this post will ever die? might i remind you of the posts regarding
the replacement bx seats . . . that thread went over 500 entries!?!
when i bought my bx, it had the new improved seat and the additional supports on the side boards . . . i was happy about that . . . but very unhappy when the reverse tranny snapout revealed itself to me.
so yeah, i believe this thread will continue on . . . regards, shrekbelly

I seem to be one of the few people that find the abrut stopping in reverse a minor anoyance instead of a major problem, but if Kubota offered a fix, I'd probably jump on it.

I'll say it again, if you lift up with the forward pedal to back up, it seems much easier to control. I use the back of my foot near the ankle, otherwise it hurts my foot. Someone else offered this suggestion, but I haven't heard of anybody else trying it other than me.
