2014 Kubota L3940
I have a clean 2014 L3940 hstc with loader has full cab with heat and ac I did a even trade for the tractor for my skid steer. I own 8 acres and would do light loader work and maintain my driveway which is about 500 feet long. I just dont have enough background on tractors. I am thinking about trading it in on a B2650 with cab not sure if this is the right move? Could anyone point me in the right direction... Thanks

Why in the world would you want to trade your excellent, heavy, luxury, pre-tier 4, Grand L Kubota for a lightweight?

This is not a good idea, at all.

Oh my. Tractorable said it all. We spent months looking for a clean pre-final tier IV tractor with a factory cab last year. I wasn't set on getting another orange tractor and looked at different brands. I was pretty serious about a Bobcat at one point. There was a New Holland that was very interesting except something didn't feel quite right with the trans. Even considered going with a new Mahindra because I feel the DOC isn't as bad as the DPF.

Lucked into the L4240 HSTC that had 977 hours on it and looked like it was just driven out of the showroom. After getting it last December it's been used with an 8' plow in the snow and a 90" RFM since Spring. It now has around 1,045 hours on it and I absolutely love it. Yesterday my BIL borrowed it because his L4740 HSTC was having a seal replaced. He hitched it to his Woods RM990X to do some pastures, and although it's slightly under the HP requirements Woods lists for that mower it performed very well. We're both fans of the HST+, although we have different preferences on some of the modes of operation. Nice thing is it's easy to select whatever setup makes you happy.

??? Are you needing something smaller? Most want to trade up in size and you have a nice machine already.

I certainly don't need that much of a tractor for the task I need to accomplish. I had a tracked skid steer and almost everything is finished at my house. The tractor has 700 hours on it. I was just not sure if it was worth trading it in on a smaller one. Less maintenance cost and a warranty. I understand that the two are in completely different classes but I'm not a tractor guy I've always had dozers and skid steer around. I see you guys think I should keep it. I just gave it a full detail and currently have the cab top off.

keep it or sell outright then buy what you want. Any of the L series tractors; 25, 33 and 39, are much better than the B tractors with their higher weight and slightly larger footprint. My L2501 HST is the perfect utility tractor for medium duty work like keeping up our 2200 ft driveway, mowing several acres around a finished farm, pulling whatever needs pulling and bucket lifting gravel and dirt here and there. No re-gen either. Also very comfortable to be on. Spent the money for top and tilt plus a third Hydraulic for the side shift flail mower, glad I went this route too as it makes everything much easier to include a fast hitch for implement use. Your tractor makes many of us drool!

Even for light loader work and 500' driveway maintenance I would keep the L3940. I now use my L4060 for commercial snow plowing, but really bought it for my home use and similar length driveway.

I imagine many of us ran a bit past "need" to "want" and are glad we did. The B2650 is a really nice little machine, but I sure wouldn't give up a GL to have one.

That L3940 looks mint! And pre-tier 4 Grand L is money in the bank.

I had a 3940 and have a 2650, both open stations. Unless you need a bit more nimble and a much, much lighter tractor with much much less power, keep that 3940. The 3940 has much nicer controls and features. That said, in the field it was too light and didn't have enough power and in the yard was too heavy and a bit large. The 2650 is a gentleman's farm tractor at best.

Ive had someone PM me once asking if they could buy my L3940. I have just over 200 hrs on it.

I have a B2650 cab model. If I had your tractor I sure wouldn't trade it for a B2650, and I like mine, I just don't love it like I did my B2910.
