L3130 too Big ??

I agree and may have to send you some PM's to pick your brain on how your B3030 works for you.

There have been a number of times where I would definitely have been able to use an L3430 with LA723 outfitted with pallet forks to move units of lumber around the jobsite, and to get large new trees off the truck and into their holes. For example, when offloading some 13' blue spruce trees with a rented JD110 TLB, I felt the back end lift up when raising the FEL with just one tree in it. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

But then there were the times that I was backfilling and finish grading to maintain positive drainage away from the foundation, and had to do it around a bunch of deck piers, or the times I was excavating part of a garage under roof to add more foundation. While doing the work with my SubCompact, I was thinking that something the size of the B3030 would be aboout as big as I could use, especially when so much of it is during renovation projects, and I can't have a big machine tearing up existing landscaping.

I know that there will be plenty of times if I end up with a B3030 that I will wish I had the bigger L3430. But I also know those many times that the L3430 is just way too big to get where I need it to, and I have to do it by hand, will have me kicking myself too. What would probably work out the best for me would be to have a BX24 AND an L3430 or 4330 with backhoe, but since I don't have that much disposable income, I'm going to have to make some concessions. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Thank you all for your thoughts and advice. I just made the call to the dealer and my L3130 will be here Saturday. WOO-HOO. Thanks again.

Fabulous !! Congrats on taking the plunge - everyone here agrees that tractoring is good. Time spent on your tractor is like fishing or patting the dog, it doesn't subtract from your time on earth.

One other point about size, I have maybe 20 different hammers - from little tackers to framers to sledges. Like any other tool, it would be nice to have six or eight different size tractors too. It's just tough selling this idea to the budget dept.

Congratulations on a great choice.

Congratulations on your new Grand L3130. Which FEL did you get? I believe that you mentioned the LA513. When I was tractor shopping, I started out looking at the B3030, but I ended up purchasing an L3430. However, I was still undecided about whether to get the LA513 or the LA723. Thankfully, I received what I believe was excellent advice from others on TBN, which advised that I should seriously consider the LA723, which I purchased before it was too late. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I highly recommend the LA723 over the LA513, because, as was pointed out by others, the LA723 has 500lbs more load capacity, 10 more degrees of rollback, 5 more degrees of dump, and the loader will lift 6" higher. I believe that the price difference is only $400-$600 more, depending on your dealer. If you can use the additional capacity, and your budget can handle the additional cost, give some consideration to the LA723 before you take delivery.

Too late tractor has been fitted with LA513 FEL. I settled with the dealer this evening and saw my tractor. I think I will be alright, could always use more capacity but money is a factor and what I need it for it should do the job. It will be here in the morning and a major snow storm is coming, what more could a guy ask for. Thanks for the advice.
