Attached are my drawing for wheel weights and longer wheel stud and bolts which should allow use of chains and widen track by at least 1.5".

Does Kubota sell different length wheel mounting hardware or do I have to use up anther favor at work to get these fine thead 16 MM x 1.5 MM metric pitch fasteners?

All of you are helping immensely.

Not to re-spark any wars, even though I love the Kubota L39 and know it'll do the trick for me, I am color-blind. I figure that as long as I stay within the Big Three (or Big Four depending on your perspective), I can't go wrong. Admittedly, I need to spend a little more time investigating the JD 110. I've read the posts regarding pros/cons of L39 vs. 110. On the whole, they will both perform the task that I'll ask them to do, and the cons of one versus the other probably will not come into play here for my application. It'll probably come down to some little detail that might make a decision for me (i.e. creeper on the 110).

I will look into the 4n1 bucket. I need to be able to justify the use; otherwise, I won't spend the money. At this point, I know of one real use for the 4n1 for my application, and it's fairly minor. I'd be interested to get more input from others on how, exactly, they use their 4n1. I've read that it's great for pulling out stumps and shrubs, but I can count on my fingers and a few toes the number of small trees on my 35+ acres. Still, I am not ruling it out, and I need to look into it more.

I think I may have talked myself into the quick-attach for the backhoe bucket ... not so much for the ease of swapping buckets, but because (from what I have found) I want the thumb ... which attaches to the quick-attach. This would be useful in plucking rocks from the hill on my property. So now, I am trying to figure out if the typical backhoe-mounted hydraulic PHD will have mounting issues. I suspect not.

Regarding the backhoe-mounted PHD, I still may go this way and not mount it on the FEL. I do like the idea of better positioning/visibility with the backhoe-mounted PHD, and I don't mind taking a little more time to drive to the next spot.

Again, I appreciate all of your inputs.

To follow along with your thoughts and not cause too many problems. I wouldn't overlook the Yanmar America Corporation - Backhoe Loaders - CBL40
in your quest. Has some nicer features incorporated, like a swivel seat!

A 4n1 bucket - real nice to have. dig, scoop, grab, scrape, bottom dump, dozer like blade (no power angle :( )

hoe mounted PHD - would be nice to be able to drill holes at odd angles

When doing the research for a "New TLB" i thought the Creeper option of the
Deer to be a big plus. Now after owning the L39 i realized it has a 4-Way Creeper function..... With Stabilizers up, the Hoe can Push-Pull or lift and move the Tractor were needed.
I cant comment on the 4 & 1 Bucket, dont own one. I can tell you with a
Good Grapple (I own the Bradco) and the Hoe. It is one mean little land clearing monster! I can easily pick up loads of Brush/Trees/Sapplings etc. That
would fill up/overflow a long Bed Pickup with ease.
I also love the GST Tranny. When Hauling HEAVY Trees/ Stumps etc. I know would have really Heated up a Hydro Tranny. It did take some getting used to, would not trade it for a Hydro now! (My last Tractor was a Hydro).
It all came down to Dealer Comfort.
Mine was Team Orange!
Go Bota!
Good luck with your decision.

I've learned the most about the L39 from SkyPup. Thanks for the posts that you've provided ... even before you received your own L39.

I Love my L39, it's an excellent machine.

Unfortunately, in one short year and after only ~40 hours, I outgrew it and I'm currently selling it.

I have had to use a New Holland 575 4x4 extendahoe to get the work done.

I already bought a New Holland 4x4 extendahoe, Actually, I'm using it for a few weeks. The seller is letting me "demo" the machine, but I'm buying it for sure.

~$31K for the L-39. Mint condition, ridiculously low hours and extra features all included. I paid ~$34,000 + tax 11 months ago. Hope that helps! Thanks!
