All of you are helping immensely.
Not to re-spark any wars, even though I love the Kubota
L39 and know it'll do the trick for me, I am color-blind. I figure that as long as I stay within the Big Three (or Big Four depending on your perspective), I can't go wrong. Admittedly, I need to spend a little more time investigating the JD 110. I've read the posts regarding pros/cons of
L39 vs. 110. On the whole, they will both perform the task that I'll ask them to do, and the cons of one versus the other probably will not come into play here for my application. It'll probably come down to some little detail that might make a decision for me (i.e. creeper on the 110).
I will look into the 4n1 bucket. I need to be able to justify the use; otherwise, I won't spend the money. At this point, I know of one real use for the 4n1 for my application, and it's fairly minor. I'd be interested to get more input from others on how, exactly, they use their 4n1. I've read that it's great for pulling out stumps and shrubs, but I can count on my fingers and a few toes the number of small trees on my 35+ acres. Still, I am not ruling it out, and I need to look into it more.
I think I may have talked myself into the quick-attach for the backhoe bucket ... not so much for the ease of swapping buckets, but because (from what I have found) I want the thumb ... which attaches to the quick-attach. This would be useful in plucking rocks from the hill on my property. So now, I am trying to figure out if the typical backhoe-mounted hydraulic PHD will have mounting issues. I suspect not.
Regarding the backhoe-mounted PHD, I still may go this way and not mount it on the FEL. I do like the idea of better positioning/visibility with the backhoe-mounted PHD, and I don't mind taking a little more time to drive to the next spot.
Again, I appreciate all of your inputs.
