Price Check L5030 pricing - Part II

I have been looking at buying a Kubota or JD (nearest dealers for me) to begin cleaning up newly purchased 32 acre property. Will be using it for digging, small scale leveling, stump removal, rough mowing, fencing. Eventually we'll build a house and use it for our horses.

After a lot of research (thanks to everyone here) I narrowed it down to either a Kubota L5030 or a JD4520. Went to both dealers and the Kubota dealer won hands down based on help, service, friendliness and pricing. While the JD dealer discounted he was tacking on charges for freight, prep etc. The Kubota dealer has a pre-printed price sheet with prices at least 15% off of MSRP and NO charges for freight, delivery or prep. He appears to offer equipment at a fair price rather than go through the haggling process.

Here is what I am being quoted:

Total comes to $37,500 (I've been saving hard for this)

Anyone with any opinions/comments on the pricing or selections would be most appreciated. I hope to make a decision within a week or so.

I got mine last fall. 5030 cab,hst, r-4, LA853 loader w QT bucket, 2 rear remotes, woods 9000 BH,18" bucket for a even 38K you must be cab less, since the kubota BH will not fit a cab tractor as of yet.

DDT, You are correct. I am not getting an enclosed cab. Sounds like the deal this guy is offering is competitve with your price when you break it apart and compare 'apples to apples'.

I have been very happy with the L5030HST. I did bust a metal hydraulic line twice by improperly tilting the blade down and pushing very hard. The relief valve for the tilt cylinders does not operate unless you are tilting the bucket and my improper push put tremendous pressure on the hydraulic system. Just look at the owners manual page 17 and do not push the incorrect way. The 50 hour changing of fluids and filters will set you back about $250, when you do it, and it is easy to do. PM me if you have any difficulties.

I use this tractor like a bulldozer and pop out trees and brush to make trails and roads. With the HST it is so easy and fun. Mowing with HST is great because you can keep the 540 RPM and just adjust speed with the pedal. The cruise is great but you really have to step on the break pedal like you mean it to disable the cruise. The backhoe is quick - take it slow at first. Follow the directions carefully when removing the backhoe - I did a picture tutorial here on TBN just use the search. High range is not for going up hills but you can go anywhere in mid range. If you feel you are not getting enough push or power just shift to the low range, and it will always spin the tires. R4 tires have worked out great in my sandy land. The seat is comfortable. Here in Texas the canopy is a lifesaver from the sun. I use a little more than a gallon of diesel for an hour of operation. The 3pt hitch is cumbersome to put on because I only take off the backhoe about twice a year and I have to relearn how each time.
