The hydraulic depth adjustment is starting to take shape in my mind's eye ...
Basic idea would to make the back blade (or carrier/moldboard) the pivot point, then tie it to the front blade carrier at each end with some flat stock. I will have some 2 1/2" x 3/8" flat stock leftover/available that could be used for the arms to tie the blade carriers together ... but 1/2" would probably be better. Could use a couple pieces on each side to give it some additional strength. And even use a piece or two in the middle, connecting near the bottom rear of the front blade carrier/mouldboard, and running diagonally up to the top of the rear blade carrier/mouldboard.
I have some 1 1/2 or 2" cold roll solid round and corresponding D.O.M. heavy wall tube/pipe that I could use for the pivots.
Use a 6" or 8" cylinder on the front blade carrier, with a mounting point either at - or beyond (in front of) - the blade carrier and that would make it a Class 2 lever. Mebbe add a DPOC to the cylinder to lock it in position ?
Set it up so that it has mebbe 1" maximum depth, and that would leave the rest of the travel available so that the front blade could be raised up when hauling a box full of dirt.
Thoughts ?
