You know I'm not convinced on this pulse either. I haven't played with it a whole lot, and I can see where it's valuable with thin material. I haven't tried it yet with thick material. Now where I thought it was cool was on aluminum with the spool gun, you could get it set where it almost looked like Tig welding, but I was shocked at how many amps it took.
I have the same feelings about spray arc transfer. I could see it in a manufacturing setting where you made the same welds over and over. But even the 3-years I spent in a fab shop, I'm not sure it would be worth all the trouble to set up. Out on a bridge build, no way!:laughing:

The pulse feature is more for 10ga and up. If you run it on 1/4" you should have a perfect spatter free bead every time but it requires a higher argon gas like 92/8. Designed for bench top fab shop work. Not swinging from a crane. lol.. I'm looking at the Aluminum weld pics. The beads look almost like you dragged them instead of pushed them. Anyway I see the Pulse 2.5 on the coupon. Does your 350 have pulse frequency options? Like being able to adjust the pulses per second?. I need to read up on that 350 Pro a little more..

No I pushed them, holding the spool gun in my right hand, I went from right to left.
The pulse adjustment goes from -10.0 to +10.0. I don't know if that is per second or not.:confused3:
