Why do these threads always get personal? Same with the Rural Driving thread.

Not sure, but didn’t it start off personal? Not like it was a mechanical -tractor type post. But I don’t think there was any disrespect intended.

Interesting thread... Original post is something I wouldn't get excited about but not everyone has the same experiences in life that lead them to be the way they are. Also it depends on where you live. In some areas this is totally acceptable like where I live and in other areas not a chance.

Yep. Here the personality of driver's changes depending on time of day. I understand that. I try to stay out of the way of those with a "mission", getting to work, doing their work, etc.

I go to town midday. Lot less stress on the roadways. Evidently a lot of other residents of my community do the same. I may follow a poker 5 or 6 miles simply because neither of us are trying to be somewhere. :)

Perhaps the neighbor thought you had friends over taking down a tree and came to help, then realized that they were paid professionals.

Nope, nope, and nope.

The tree crew was here because we hired them not the neighbor across the street.
He was carrying, forgot to mention this, a chainsaw so we thought at first he was another worker.
I'm not a social bug as some are but then I'm not anti-social either.
In the brief conversation we had, rather garbled, he said something about having worked as part of this crew in the past.
I want to be friendly, I want to be neighborly. But that was a poor start on his part.
And if you are saying you don't mind people, neighbors or not, just wandering onto your property to treat it like it's their privilege to do so I cry BS, you are lying.

So the guy that used to work with this crew, came over with his chainsaw to help out for no cost, and that is concerning to you? Sounds neighborly to me.

We got a new neighbor 6 months ago. Very nice house on the corner of the main road. My property and driveway borders his 4.5 acres. I wasn't home when they moved in so stopped by a few weeks later. I introduced myself, told him my name, and welcomed him to the area. He never gave me his name. I asked if he needed anything, and he said, nope... I had my tractor out one day pruning some low hanging branches when I saw him coming up the road; I waved and he didn't... Haven't seen or heard from him since. I guess he wants to be left alone. I got the message and will honor his wishes.

Ok Chuck your neighbor just popped in and then went home?

Be grateful you do not have a neighbor like Steppenwolfe.
