My wife, Joy, returned to work Saturday January 24th. She owns her business but hasn't work since the accident, July 11, 2008.

She said she was tired after a days work but made it through the day. She is a dog groomer. She groomed six small dogs, she normally can groom 8 to 10 dogs on a Saturday. Her doctor told her to work a day take two days off then work another day. Hopefully she can be back to work fulltime in a month. God knows we need the money and our daughter, the one not in the accident, needs some times off she has been doing all the work since the accident.

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers.

Don

FINALLY the news we have been waiting on.

Dr. John Lamb, Joy my wife's, doctor told her she iscompletely healed! She doesn't need to come back to see him. He told her her limp will get somewhat better in time. He told her she can return to walking but 1/4 of a mile for a while and work up from there. He said in a few months she will probably be doing 3 to 4 miles a day. She need to use her cane until she get more stable on her feet.

God is good, no God is great. Thank you to everyone on this forum who has prayer for my wife.

Now all we need to do is wait on my grand daughters recovery. She is doing better but the progress is slow. She is still in a lot of pain after a day of changing classes in her school.

God bless,

Don

Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Praise Him, all creatures here below. Praise Him above ye heavenly host. Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

Don, thank you for reaching out to your forum brothers. It is a humbling thing to ask for help. We all need to do it sometime.

Don, we're so thrilled that all turned out about as well as anyone could have hoped. Thank you for sharing with us along the way and for inviting us to help with prayers and well wishes.

At a time when the economy has us all down and worried, watching your family's health get better and better was/is a nice contrast!

Don: I too have just stumbled upon and read through from the beginning. My goodness, you folks have been through an awful lot! Apart from each individual and their personal battle from then till now, . . . this has been a most stressfull burden on you. Obviously your "faith" has carried you through and brought healing to all. Thank God!!! Praise the Lord!

I would like to ask two questions and feel free to ignore me if you so desire.
(1) were there "seat-belts" and/or "air-bags" involved ?

(2) does your wife still have an issue with the "open wound"? (or has that situation been resolved?) (OR, problem with open wound and infection with any of the rest of the family?)

Hopefully everyone has healed successfully by now, but occasionally, these open wounds tend to drag on and just won't heal. (personal experience)

All the very best to you and the family,

Tug,

Thank you for your kind words. Now to answer your questions.

1. Some were wearing seatbelts some were not.
2. No one has any open wounds left. My wife was the last to heal and her wound was healed by February of 2009. My granddaughter had skin graphs to close her wounds.

Both my wife and granddaughter still have very bad limps but they are gett better as time goes by. In 10 more day it will have been one year since the accident.

Again thanks for you kind words and prayer. All of this has made me a man of faith. I always had faith but today my faith is stronger.

Hello Don, Thanks for your reply, wasn't sure if you still checked in to this particular thread or not. I am so pleased to be able to say "Praise The Lord" for healing your family and keeping "you" (and your daughter that took over the household) strong through-out this year long ordeal.

A year is a long time when looking ahead but such a short time looking back. I know there are limps and pains that will ease with time in the same way that scars tend to fade away,... sometimes till barely visible.

I learned a great respect for seat belts many years ago and put them in all my vehicles long before they became law here. I'm always curious if they helped or hindered during collisions.

Thanks again for your reply and may God continue to Bless your family,
. . . tug
