Looks nice. Nice to get an early start in the spring!

We have built on hillsides and the sites add challenges. The water tends to run along the ledge rock. Do you have a plan for dealing with runnoff from the hillside and from the eaves?

We have dealt with run off with the house and have done the same with this garage. French drains and ditches to run water down to culverts.

Wow, "Not a bad days work".....You said it well.....

Looks great Pixguy (Green with envy here)........

What size I-joist are you using .........do you know what the floor rating is (PSF).....

What do you use for the end of the I-joists to tie them together....?...OSB...?......

Sorry for questions.....Thanx for the pix

Thanks Bill, not sure what the PSF is rated, but we're using 14" I-Joists and OSB rakes also 1"X14".

And Advantek T&G sheeting for the deck.

Second floor stairs and windows will go up on tuesday. Hoping to be putting the roof plywood on by wed. pm.
The floor is due to be poured on thursday.

The weather is due to be clear all week.
Thanks all for your comments.

Here some photos from tuesday.

Putting up some sheathing and the second floor walls.

Seems to be going pretty fast and I'm happy with the way it's looking.

Wow, looking great.....was the stairwell opening an after thought, post #17 showed I-joist going all the way through where the opening is....

Or was it an optical illusion

OK, let's catch up on photos.

I've been helping the crew(family) so I haven't been been able to take many photos, so my wife had to take some today. I'm in some of the photos working harder than I do in my usual white collar job. But I'm enjoying it.

We raised the roof rafters, started the soffits and facia and framing the end gables.

Another good day, mother nature is being kind!

Very nice pixguy! I see you keep a very clean and tidy work site from start to finish. When I see that, I think 'there's a guy who cares about his work.'

That hillside is steep.
Dave.

LOL, it does look like it was a screw up, but the chief(step brother) likes to do things, and THEN cut things in, like the stairs and some windows. One window we're still waiting on my decision on where to put it. It's a non-operable 14HX36W window that I want for the garage for light, but because I lowered the floor because of the steep drive, I'm leary where to put it.

Interesting roof line. The different lines give it some class so it doesn't look like a cheap tin barn dropped in place. Good work.

Looks great......

When you "cut in" the stairwell do you use some of the extra LVL's to box it in..??

OK, let's catch up on photos.

Cool building. Much nicer than mine - that's for sure. I can appreciate the driveway work - I brought in 22 loads (18 yards / 24 tons) of crushed stone / gravel (nitpack) and 13 loads of loam this summer. Gave my L4200 quite the beating. Hope you didn't get a building permit - stick it to the man! I like the earlier driveway rock pics too - looks like every time I try to dig a hole.
