My take on driveway gates

Don't be the person who shuts their driveway gate only when gone. That becomes an observant thief's signal to come in.

Bruce
And if the gate operator is manual, aka me or one of the family, make sure when the gate is shut, the lock is on the INSIDE of the gate. If the lock is on the OUTSIDE, it implies that one is not home, which may, or may not, be true. The lock always goes on the inside.

The boulders are the drive around protection
Had lined up rocks similiar to this, and the rocks were taken by a neighbor. Could not prove it.

Placed more rocks to replace them.
Neighbor ended up in jail 2 years later as part of a theft ring bust.

I guessed that the rocks all weighed between 350 to 600 lbs. Still get laughs about stolen rocks. Who would of thought someone would haul heavy rocks away? My former neighbor! Got caught with 5 million dollars worth of stolen equipment and other items.

We had to put a hat up to keep the door knocker across the street from trying to give a watchtower every week

So a forked carry-all on my 3PT can pick them up and haul them away with ease. I deal with round hay bales weighing much more.

Do you know the simplest way to keep those people away? Within their circle they practice SHUNNING. Just say you are a former JW and you want to show them the way out of it. They will turn high tail and NEVER RETURN ! Even if you invite them over, they will not come.

I am in the process of putting a gate up on my driveway too.
A product that I am looking at for gate control is the Remootio.
I put one on my garage and am impressed and I think the geofencing via bluetooth will be especially useful at the gate (just drive up and the gate opens for you).
Anyway, just thought I would share.

There's 3 cowboys riding in the front of a pickup truck. Can you tell which one is the smartest?
It's the one in the middle. 1st he don't have to drive and 2nd he don't have to fool with the gate!
Not mine -1st heard by Baxter Black. RIP
