Hopefully Tim and his neighbors story will get in the Armed Citizen column in some future issue of NRA American Rifleman and American Hunter it certainly deserves to be there I think anyway.![]()
Not necessarily. I used a prong collar on our Newfy. Sweet dog, just too much power when out walking her (they have been used as draft dogs for logging!) A short while with the prong collar and she became much more enjoyable to walk with.
As for the pit bull breed, I have known people with very sweet and friendly pit bulls. I think the big issue is that some people want and create "big bad mean" dogs out of them. These morons gravitate to these types of breeds to show off their own attempt at a tough image. Those dogs are dangerous. Most others of the breed are not. We have seen the same type of problem with other breeds....German Shepherds, rotties, dobermans, etc.
Personally I don't think the whole breed should be condemned, just those who are handled by mean morons who are looking for a dog to cover their own inadequacies.
This has gotten me worried for a friend. His next door neighbor has a pit bull chained all day outside, about 40 feet from my friend's grandchildren's house! He's already told the knucklehead about it, and the sheriff too. Scares me to death for them! That thing is always pulling on the chain with his muscular neck, which needs a bullet in it!
I'm a real dog lover. But, hey, pit bulls, etc. were bred to kill.
He is married and was going to celebrate his 58 wedding anniversary last weekend with his extended family. He was going shopping for the BBQ when this all happened!
My daughter sent me the sound track from the Lone Ranger. "and with ha hardy hi ho Kubota he rode off into the sunset" Will have to rename the tractor Silver I guess.
