New 2 me YANMAR 2210 BD 4X4- NOW-SERVICE QUESTIONS?

   / New 2 me YANMAR 2210 BD 4X4- NOW-SERVICE QUESTIONS? #41
Greetings Winston1:

I joined tractorbynet to learn more about maintaining a 1948 International C tractor my Dad left me when he passed away. But he also left me a Yanmar 2210D 4x4 tractor that I have struggled to maintain as well. I am a computer guy not a back yard mechanic by any stretch. Can you tell me where you (I) could obtain (download from a web site) a pdf copy of the 2210D manual you are all referring to in this thread? Thank you. Ronald

Welcome aboard, sending you a pm. :welcome:

Very nice Cuda. Love those shaker hoods. I had a 1970 (restored) 340 dart swinger that I sold several yrs ago. I also drag raced a 1969 dart with all glass front and 500 CI engine. That 1 was also sole a few yrs ago. I sure do miss those days

A retailer and the distributor recommend it as a suitable replacement for the John Deere 303 fluid that Yanmar specified.

The distributor notes it is for moderate temperatures (like single-grade motor oil); outside that range they recommend their premium fluid. That sounds like 303 to me. Remember Yanmar specifies 5 minute warmup before moving the tractor, probably to get the hydraulic fluid warmed up. But nobody warms up that long!

So if I am reading this correctly, then I should be using the PREMIUM due to my cold weather?

I don't see where you are located, in the box on the left. Just follow Yanmar's instruction to warm up for five minutes in cold weather. So long as you crank it over with the clutch depressed, thicker old-spec oil won't slow down the cranking speed.

I don't think you have a problem with that particular UTF, just an old-school solution where modern inventions are more convenient. Don't worry about it.

Ok, since I posted this thread I had been using the tractor off and on and love it. However its been sitting maybe 6-8 weeks now and I used it today. After approx 30 minutes I had this issue.

looking for advise. Did I need to service this as well.

OK, so I bought this 2210BD early spring from Coldwater tractors and have been using it lightly off on this spring but nothing for approx 2 months. Mostly post holes this summer. Went out today and used it a little loading dirt into my raised beds for next spring. All of a sudden the front right hub wanted to turn suddenly/ shaprly. I tried to limp it to the shop so as to work on it and it stopped completely and wont turn?

The left rotates and the right wont turn at all.

So when I bought it, I thought I changed all fluids, including the for the front diff. However in looking at this thing now in the pics, the assembly for the wheel looks like it has a drain plug in the bottom of it (see photo) and the other pics shows a small nut that MAY be a filler????

That said, did I destroy something, any ideas and if so, whant even get it and is it expensive. Right now I cant even get it to the shop. If this is a reservoir, what oil and its probably too late?totally bummed as I spent every cent I had to buy this and cant even afford to fix it at this point if its broken or expensive. any advise is very appreciated.

Im

Thanks for any advise in advance.

the culprit

Does this look like its separating

the diff was full

is this a drain plug, I am new and admit it, I didnt service this, just the front diff. Did I screw the pooch?

and is this a filler nut?
